Good morning Kath. Hope you have a good day today!
I have to gas up too, but I do have close to a half tank already. Today is my chemo treatment, so it's a 104 mile round trip for me to San Antonio.

Good morning Kath and Mary Ann

I hope, for both of you that your day goes smooth.

Mary Ann, that sure is a LONG drive for your treatment. Wish I was close by, and could drive you some of the times you have to go.

Best wishes to both.

Moni

Good morning everyone. Mary Ann, Moni is right, that is such a long trip. How often do you have to go?

I've been for a walk with my neighbour and then walked the dogs. Then I poked around in the greenhouse, and I am now watching tv until it's time to go to work. It's just a beautiful day here, but it's supposed to rain tonight.

Moni, I wish you were close too. We would enjoy that ride!
Susan, I go once every two weeks for chemo, but in between I sometimes have other dr visits and they are all in the city. In Dec and Jan I had to go everyday for 6 weeks when I was getting radiation too, so this isn't bad at all.

Morning Kath.
Here's to a productive yet unfrantic day for you!

Good luck Maryanne!
We hauled MIL about the same distance for her chemo treatments two years ago and my neighbor the same last year. BOTH are in remission. Those long trips were well worth it! Have a good one dearie. Getcha some books on tapes or some great music to listen to, okay?

I'm off to work.

Lori

Good evening. It is now, anyway. Someone called in so I had to stay a couple hours over. We got tons of discharges and then admissions.

That's a long way to go for treatment, MaryAnne. I hope you're not getting sick and having to drive all that way back home. They do have some good drugs for any nausea nowadays.

It's raining here, after having a warm, beautiful day earlier. I stopped this morning to fill my tank up for $3.49 a gallon. On the way home, cheapest I saw was $3.75.

Well i'm on the Good Evening team.LOL

I had to go to my hospital today for orientation for the Total Knee Replacement i'll have a week from this thursday.
I'm getting sooooooooo stressed with all this running around.

It probably wouldn't have been so bad,but last week both of my legs and feet started swelling quite a bit to the point where my feet were shiny from the skin stretching, and the inside of my legs between my calf and ankle were red and hurt to the touch. So that started another round of dr,lab,x-rays,cat scans etc to see whats causing all that. They still havn't figured it out,but i don't have a fever or anything like that.

Then today when i took my prescription in for the meds i'll need after the surgery, they called and told me they don't carry them and can't get them. They even called another chain of drug stores, who also didn't carry them. Then i got on the phone calling around all to no avail,so i had to call my dr back and ask him to change it to something else.

Then when his nurse called me back she informed me that the urinalysis i took on monday shows i have a urinary tract infection,so she called in a script for that as wel.

No wonder i'm stressing!!!

MaryAnn,hope you're doing well !! Your problems make mine look like a walk in the park.
I should have read all the post before posting, but you know what writing all this has lessened the stress i was feeling.
Kathi

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts.
I almost look forward to going for chemo. I know that sounds crazy, but I really like my doctor and his staff are all so much fun. They have great attitudes and are always laughing and joking around. I feel like we are all old friends. And I don't mind the drive at all. I haven't been sick at all. In fact the only side effects I've had so far is that I can't drink or eat anything cold for several days after my treatments. I have a prescription for nausea, but haven't had to use it. I have had offers from friends and family to drive me if I ever need them to.

It was a really interesting day at chemo. I had found out that a man who usually has chemo on the same day I do, has the same last name as Jammer (and me too now). He sat by me today so I started a conversation with him. We found out they are related! He hasn't been around any of the family in many years, but he wants to see them now. He is such a nice guy and I enjoyed our visit. He told me stories about his grandparents and his Dad that I had already heard at some of the family gatherings that I've been to. We exchanged phone numbers and plan to get together for dinner one evening so that he and Jammer can meet each other. Sure made my morning fly by!!

Oh gosh Kath, $3.75 a gallon??? I had planned to fill up on my way home at a town where the gas prices are usually a few cents lower, but my sister called me and we talked while I drove through the town and I never thought about gas. I had enough to get home, but now will have to buy gas here where it is usually a little higher than the larger towns.

Kathi, hope the infection gets cleared up before your surgery.

Maryann, glad you're not getting sick. That's really cool that you met one of Jammer's relatives so far from home. I've met lots of people at work, from the hills where the ex is from and where we used to live, including one of his ex-uncles who supposedly abused his daughter. His current wife brought up that subject, probably knowing I knew and said it was a lie to keep her daughter away from him. Sad, if that was true.
