Banquette furniture seating for breakfast nook
Comments (1)Im assuming this banquette has a back? Its the thickness of the back plus 19" seat depth is the measurement you need to see the actual shape or curve of the banquette. Take all these measurements and enter into a CAD to get this shape/size. Or ask the manufacturer to make a paper template of the actual base size....See MoreBring on the Banquettes!!
Comments (7)I custom built one in my very small nook with doors initially, and while I loved the storage, I didn't like how to access it. So.....I found Ikea's easy drawers, and installed them. Much easier to access and a tom of stuff fits in there now. So, irregardless of how you do it- go for drawers!...See MoreBanquette seating pics/
Comments (13)Okay, so about an hour later after 1st reading the responses I am back. Thank you so very much, NHB for the links. I love them & the article is very informing - esp about a thicker cushion & height/depth. I love Kitchenkelly's morgue drawers - hee hee:) Sueb20 - your banquette is beautiful & exactly what I had in mind. Chijim - yep, that is high line right there!! Is he the designer they call the king of chintz? Lovely & over the top:) Well, I was thinking of a banquette but DH nixed the idea. Oh well, I enjoyed all the pics & info. I think it is so great for a breakfast nook. Thank you all. Smiles:)...See MoreFixed outside banquette seat with granite table advice?
Comments (9)I don't know the details of the fixings for the granite. We had a granite table previously (see picture) for 16 years but it was so well fixed and stable, they were unable to remove the granite to move it for the current garden renovation, so sadly it had to be destroyed! So we're having to get a new piece of granite! I love the fact it needs absolutely no maintenance whatsoever, other than a scrub and wipe before use! As far as the banquette, we don't really have a choice. We've removed a higher level garden to create a new patio area and intend to have a firepit table that needs a minimum 3 metre footprint. If we have the fixed table away from the house wall and far enough away to be able to pull out chairs all the way around, it will be in the way of the chairs of the firepit table and make the whole area look/feel cluttered. I'm hoping that with a 12" gap between the seating and the table top that slim adults won't find it impossible, even if it isn't ideal. We'll have the five folding chairs for regular use, so it will only be when we have "extras" that the banquette will come into play. Does that reassure..?...See Morepudgybaby
