Good morning! Up here where I live in the Ontario, we break out the beige purses at Easter, bone/white on the 24th May weekend. The bone/white are put away at Labour Day (Sept 1) and if you're a real die-hard, you keep the beige out till Thanksgiving. Right now, I'm carrying a smallish red bag & have been for about 6 wks now. It's just a cheap one but the size is perfect & the colour is just right for me. I have a white one that I only use during July/August ... to me, white is pretty stark. I have a nice crocheted bag with coins on it that jangle ... sounds like a native jingle dress ... if I wasn't in love with my red purse, I'd be using my jingle purse. I also have a nice summer purse that I got on a cruise. It's got palm trees & water & sequins & glitter on it. I don't use it often, it's more of a keepsake but it has been used. Brown & black are winter purses here & I've had enough winter ... it's time for summer & light/bright colours.

I used to change purses a lot, but now, since I have my nice Pomeranian purse, I am going to use it for awhile. It was a gift from my second DD.

No it's always my fanny pack for me I feel secure with it and not afraid of it being left behind or snatched. I had my purse stolen a couple of times when I lived in Miami. If I'm going to a concert or something like that I'll take a small Gucci bag I have and bring just essentials with me. My fanny bag is big enough to carry all the necesities I need. I don't carry every credit card or family photo that I own. too hard to replace.

I don't change bags when the seasons change, but I do match them to whatever colour shoes I'm wearing!

I try to remember to do that, but usually forget. Not so much color, but I like to use a lighter (canvas, perhaps) purse for summer, and a heavier material like leather for winter.

However, I'm really fussy about the design. Has to be a shoulder bag, with a loop or ring where I can hook my keys, a secure, external pocket for my cell phone (with easy access) another accessible pocket for my pocket watch. A few other zipper compartments so I can keep organized. Not to big, not too small, has to zip closed (I really can't stand the ones that are always open, or that just have a single button/toggle to 'close' them.)

So you see, it's often difficult for me to find a purse that suits--in which case, I just keep using the one I've been carrying for the past 6 (or more) months.

Summer, I need a larger, more rugged canvas handbag because we spend a lot of times at Rod Runs, shows, where the handbag is often sitting on the ground or picnic tables, etc.

For winter, I have good leather handbags in dark/light browns and black.

No, but I always use only real leather bags which wear forever. I keep them for years, replacing only if I'm bored with it. I even replace the straps.

I ususally don't care about my purse around here, but just keep using the one I like till bored. But I thought since I am traveling and going to a more tropical area, I should change. Maybe I will go with a light brown or canvas one instead of the white one I was going to take. I have lots of leather purses in boxes, so can change to something else when bored.

No I carry what suits my activity, cross overs for serious shopping or trips. I have always hated changing bags and left home a couple of times without my driver's license because I forgot to move it to the new purse. I keep small things in a cosmetic bag, so just have to move my wallet, that bag and my extra keys from the zippered section.

I change purses almost daily if I'm going out, so I say take whichever purse you want. It's hot and tropical in FL, the rules are different there, you could carry a white purse in FL year-round if you were so inclined. (I used to live there, I know! lol) Personally, I would take and use all your tropical items if you want, Clare. Have a great trip!

We're going to Indian Rocks Beach (near Clearwater) next Friday for about 10 days, I intend to live in my bathing suit, tank tops, shorts and flip flops every minute of every day. And if I go out shopping, this is the little purse I'll use-

I don't bother collecting a lot of really nice handbags, but I do change out - I have a really wonderful shoulder strap bag but it's black so I don't use it in the summer.

I have a pale colored leather for summer but I also do get some far less expensive cloth bags for fun "summer look" fashion which goes in and out quickly - but in the winter I only tend to use a couple of good leather bags in dark, neutral colors.

Flamey that is adorable. My Mother bought me a multi-colored leather purse several years ago. It has a broken clasp and I still love it. I get lots of compliments on it.

I like colorful or unusual handbags. That is why I have a collection. I like a lot of the same things as azzalea.

I have a list of things I like in a purse and am very picky.

Shoulder bag with long enough strap to cross over my chest, hate it falling off my shoulder.

Zipper closed - if the it is the open type, I lose things when I throw it into the car or it falls off the seat during a sudden stop.

External pocket - for lists, keys, pen, etc so can get to it quick.

Inside zippered pocket - for few small items like lipstick, mirror, tiny calculator, address book, etc.

Medium size - hate the ones the size of carry-ons but small ones don't have enough room for everything.

Leather - I love the feel and durability of leather. I am rough on purses.

Colorful - I have red, purple, green, blue purses. Or has to have unusual detail work. I don't like blah vanilla purses.
