As a rule of thumb in a case like this, I ask myself how much do they mean to me? I wash everything In The dishwasher. Even my Royal Doulton china. With that I’d did a check with the manufacturer and was told that anything made after 1975 is safe for the dish machine. But my silver rimmed stemware started to fade, so now I wash it by hand. The China is Sherbrooke pattern and the crystal is Mikkasa Briarcliffe. a

I would have a hard time estimating how much he has gained, but I want him to gain until his top line (back) has filled out. I was told at the kill pen that he had lost 100 lb but I believe it was much more. I expected it tho. It is a very stressful place for a horse. Especially for a horse like Val, who was obviously well cared for at one time. Horses are like any animal...they are used to their home and they are scared and bewildered by such a drastic change. He was covered in bites from the other horses. He is very timid and totally nonaggressive. No wonder he lost so much weight. I am surprised he doesn't have ulcers. Horses get ulcers from stress, just like people. He is absolutely as sweet as he can be. I am so happy to have him. I used to pick up road kill to feed an alligator here. Squirrels were his favorite. Nice soft bodies. I was so upset. A 17 yr old boy killed a bald eagle that had nested in a certain spot in Houston for several years. They declined to prosecute him, due to his age. I think they should have.

Hey Marilyn, I'm wondering if you or we can SOS a group to help you get your animals to higher ground, if they are threatened; you mentioned your horses are standing in water. There are so many people ready and willing to help in any way they can, from what I hear. Is this a silly idea?
