Coming to Niagara Falls

We will be in Niagara Falls on June 24th and 25th. What day do you gals want to get together? Will someone put this together. It is easy just decide on a restaurant, date and time.

I have emailed Mush and will keep her informed as things are finalized.

And I'll be there from June 19-21st! Have a great time, Nita and Casey! It'll be a first for us and we're trying to work out the logistics.

Would it not be worthwhile to dig up the hosta, see what is going on with the roots and replant? I had a Sum and Substance that was attacked by voles and there was a tunnel right under the S & S. Would it not be good to replant and therefore place soil back where the tunnel is (if one exists)? If no tunnel, no big deal, just replant the hosta. If it is voles, would they not make a return visit?

Thanks for the nice comments folks. Looking back on this plant it surprised me how long I had it. I could see from my own pictures how "messing with it" set it back. That is probably why many of my plants take much longer than the three or four years to reach anything like maturity. Oh well, I like the crowded look and until I can't physically move things, I'll keep doing what I do. I don't usually get stunned by my own plants because I see them all the time once they are up. This year I was away for 3 days in late May just when they were opening. When I came home I was shocked by Niagara Falls. It had gotten so big! So did quite a few others. This seemed to be a year many leaped which kept me busy finding a better place for them. That combined with the weather keeping me inside some of the time is why I haven't been around much. I'm still trying to catch up on the alphabet which is now finished....Myrle

GG I have one of those Tom Cat multi catch traps for voles. One winter we had six in there. We didn't find them until spring when the snow melted. The best thing I found to deter them in beds is ground oyster shell or turkey/chicken grit from a feed store mixed into the soil. It also improves soil drainage if your soil is compacted Also one year I made up a 5 gallon bucket of hot sauce and hot water and soaked the bed with this mixture...no more voles and it didn't hurt the plants. We are looking forward to meeting Nita when she comes to the Niagara Falls area, which looks like it will be June 24. We are wondering how many people will be able to meet up, as we need to make dinner arrangements. So far I think it's me and Mush, but I could very well have missed someone. We liked the revolving restaurant at night. So pretty with all the lights etc.
Again, need our Canadian friends correct name for this. I call it Niagara by the Sea---small town with high tea, and nice places to eat. Makes you think you are in England--cucumber sandwiches etc. I think it is about an hour away. Hope you have a great trip.

I've never been there before either. Marie it's Niagara by the Lake, we plan on visiting there too.

I was there August of last year. This was out 3rd time to stop and gaze at the falls. I never tire of them.

We went farher north to cross into Canada on our way to Whitby, Ontario. My wife did some genealogy searching on a ancestor of hers who came from Whitby. This ancestor eventually found his way to Grand Junction, Colorado and was an early pioneer there. He established the first fruit orchard and dug a canal to bring river water to the orchard.

Yup. You need a passport if you are crossing into Canada. You can not get back into the USA without it.
What a pain, but necessary.

I recall years ago when it was a joy to cross into Canada. All you needed then was your driver's license and pass the german shepard without arousing him.

Yes, you will need a passport. Bummer. When I was younger, you could get by with an honest smile and good manners.
