Cream, Brown, Taupe & Black Granite??
Comments (14)Thank You All So Much for the suggestions!! I visited the granite slab yard today and it is a bit overwhelming!! My floors are going to be medium/dark oak, the exterior cabinets are cherry stained dark (more brown - no red), The island paints a creamy white (with a glaze - maybe?) and the hood paints the same. Creamy subway tile backsplash, either a limestone (durango cream) farm sink or dark copper, oil rubber bronze faucets and hardware. There is tons of natural light so I dont think it will go to dark. The whole back of the house is windows. But I do need the granite of be in the light/ creamy direction. I did see Cream Boudeaux today and like it. But wondering if it tends to go grey? Any more suggestions would be great. And of course, the pictures are extremely helpful!! THanks!!!...See MoreAnyone heard of 'romano dream' granite?
Comments (0)The reno of my galley kitchen starts at the end of July, so I still have time to find a granite slab I really like. My cabinets will be white and there isn't much natural light, so I am drawn to lighter stone. Have had in mind Bianco Romano, although the slabs I have seen in person were a little too gray, was hoping for more brown. Anyway, in my visit to the granite guys today I saw a slab they called "Romano Dream" which, although a little darker, spoke to me. It has a creamy background with brown and black swirls and flecks of red and maybe it's mica that's shiny. I can't find much on it online, and I am wondering if it might be another name for Bianco Antico, which from photos anyway, looks very similar. Anyone heard of it? Even better, anyone have it?...See MoreHelp...Please show pics of your creamy white kitchens
Comments (37)acountryfarm, 9 children in a 2200 sq.ft. home being homeschooled and your old white kitchen still looked new! If anyone can use and enjoy this kitchen it is you and your family. For all of us looking at the amazing photos, this kitchen is beyond our wildest dreams, but for you who poured all you could into it, you were expecting a certain feeling and it isn't there for you. It may be living with it, in it's current beauty, gives you the time and insight to change what it is that denies you that total satisfaction with your project, but I understand you're wanting to figure it out before you all settle in and everyone says "Mom, can we be done with the kitchen now?" (At least that is what my kiddos are saying). We are all here for you, if you want to change something, but if you don't be reassured, yours is one amazingly gorgeous kitchen! The magazines are waiting to snap pics of this one....See MoreBack with Finished Kitchen-creamy white & lots of windows
Comments (57)Here's a couple more pictures. First is of the cabinet above the fridge. We made it tray storage on the top because we use a lot of trays to dine outside in the summer. I have a flip up panel below the tray storage area that I use to keep my wok and a few other things. This is sort of a dummy panel in case I ever get a taller fridge. The pantry cabinet is in the hallway between my kitchen & dining room. I used a narrow Ikea cabinet and then customized the remaining space to hold the Swiffer, brooms etc. In order to get this to work we had to knock the walls in this tiny space. It was a ton of work just to gain 4" but the pantry area now functions beautifully. A few have asked by cabinet color...it's a custom lacquer match to my the trim color in the rest of my house. The trim color was custom mix I did many years ago. It took several tries to get the lacquer to match but it was worth it. My window trim is painted with the oil trim paint and it matches my cabinet perfectly. newbie--I am not actually in Chicagoland...I'm in north central Indiana so I'm not sure it would help. The flooring integrated perfectly..you can't tell at all. We had the dining room refinished so the colors match. Theanimala--yes your pulls were my inspiration. Thank you so much! I will get the paint color formula and post it later this week. Again, thank you everyone for the kudos. For all of you still in the remodel process, don't despair. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I thought it would never end, especially since it was mostly a DIY project, but in the end it was well worth the time and struggle. Hang in there!...See Moreathomewith3
