I am in the Sugar Land area and recently finished my pool installation using Caribbean Custom Pools. They were very responsive to my questions and concerns and finished the pool within 3 weeks (contractor timing and weather helped to make it shorter than the projected 4-6 weeks). The contract price was about 49k plus the extras that I added. The extras were items that I knew would be extra and were NOT a result of them putting in a low bid and trying to recover costs.

Gulf coast Pools out of Richmond. Prices were great. Design outstanding. 7 week build time. Alot of his work is done in house (not all subbed out). The owner even gave me his Cell phone number if I needed him for anything.

Thank you Grace for the link. That explains why I could not find them in Richmond. They have a P.O Box instead of an address. I would prefer a place that has an actual address or showroom.

You may also want to consider Great White. They were on our short list. It is a small operation but he provides a lot of hands on attention during your build. We visited on of his pools that was under construction (unknown to him) and the quality looked excellent. The owners were very happy with the experience.

Custom Pool & Spa Concepts - they have a nice showroom on Hwy 90 in Richmond. We built with them two years ago and have been very pleased with the customer service. The owner has personally come to my house on several occasions because we had a valve turned wrong or something silly like that. Kelly aka Huskyridor is a PB (Atlantis Pools) who posts on this forum & has a good rep along with many satisfied customers here - he's on our short list when we are ready to build.

If anyone else has more recommendations, and recent personal experiences, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Their direct # is 281(232)8825 they are located @ 1207 FM 359, Mike Caruso is the owner. He Has been building pools for about 16 years but primarily on the commercial side. He within the last year has opened up a residential store there. I heard about him through a friend who heard about him through a friend and so on. I know of many pools he has built.

Hi there Alwayssummer! We're in West Houston...off the tollroad between Briar Forest and Memorial...I don't know how that compares to your location. We used The Pool Man last year for a major renovation and we were very happy, especially with their responsiveness and communication. I felt like the people we dealt with were very professional -- they always showed up when they said they would, called when they said they would, and they delivered the product/services promised within the timeline promised. I have no hesitation recommending them.

We had a poor experience with another Houston builder and I was a little hesitant going into the renovation. I feel like with the Pool Man we found a fair and reliable company that we would gladly do business with again.
