Another one ready to quilt...

I am thinking about binding this with a really narrow binding in black. Ive had mixed opinions,as there is no black in the quilt. But I held the black up to it and it would really frame it well...help me decide!!!

Beautiful! I think you're right about the black. Even though it's not in the quilt, I think it would do very well as binding.
Is the fabric in the middle of the stars that fabric you showed on QIAD that you got from Wal Mart? It looks great in the center of the stars!

Yes, its from Walmart. I just got a yard of the maroon and one of the green.I had no plans for it at the time. The other day they had the same fabric in blue, but I was there today and it was gone.The red and green lasted about two days! LOL!I may go with the black.Ty for the compliments...

Once something starts bugging you it is hard to "just let it go" -- I got REAL GOOD and taking things apart when I did my kaleidoscope quilt. (Even literally put darts in a couple blocks to get it to match right!) I noticed you have the four corners of blocks in the center perfectly matched -- the little muslin squares. I would let that intersection go as far askew as I needed to to get the black parts lined up. Since the muslin is roughly the same color it's really "one square" in the center -- IMO, matching it's points is not important. Where as the black/white intersections jump out at you. I would get those black squares matched up and sewn together. (Taking at least the one in like I suggested above) THEN, if I had a significant difference in size between the top and bottom muslin pieces in the center, I'd take the one that is larger and tighten its seam up -- Go up higher - maybe right below where the black starts and resew the seam angling inward ever so slightly so that by the time I reach the bottom my seam allowance is more than 1/4 inch -- I've sewn at an angle. Too extreme an angle and it won't lie flat but I think you can get away with enough to take up the slack. And once it's quilted who will know?! Clear as mud?!

I love it........and when I got to the picture of the backing, that nailed it. Perfect. Laughing, because the baby quilt I made the latest g'child is still folded up in the closet. I don't think he has ever seen it and he's now 2-1/2. I'm not offended, because I heard her utter something like 'Oh it's too nice to really use' when she opened it. Yeah, I had washed it as well. One of these days when I'm babysitting, maybe I'll hunt for it and let him decide if he wants to use it, instead of saving it for one of his kids. LOL.

Calliope - you are right, it was Chiclet. I am attaching the link for the pattern. Lois, the squares are 2-1/2 inch. It was a great way to use up LOTS of scraps. The gal I emailed about the chapter here emailed me back and said she even has pieces of batting that can be used. I'll probably drive down and pick up the kit supplies at the end of the year. I'm so happy to find a donation site close to home so postage isn't a consideration. SharonG/FL

Caroline, I think this is gorgeous! The black binding might look like a picture frame, so I say if you like it, do it! It might give it a 'finishing' touch.

Just lovely. My favorite colors. In my house it would end up with a dark green binding to coordinate.

What a pretty quilt. My vote is for black or dark green. I think either would frame it well.

That is beautiful as all of your creations are!!! I vote for the same green material in the quilt. Of course, if you don't have enough, black would look wonderful too!!!!

The dark green looks black on my monitor - so I say go with either the black or that very dark green.
