Yo Ken, if your still around your up on this one. Far as Composites go I am with the Larry/whoever We are for the most part. Composites are really no longer using recycled material because there is just not enough of it so most of the raw stuff is virgin,the energy used to make composite is an enviro no no, when its time to remove the project composite is not real big on bio degrade its tricky to burn shreading it would be silly. Bottom line composites are not so enviro freindly. Info like that might suggest its not all that good to clean it either, with anything. I dont agree>> composites will out last Ipe, left to go silver/gray Ipe is as close to no maintance as a person can get. With the softer composites like Choice/MoistureShield even trex= tjunk I have found a coat or two of TWP 116 seals up the decking,locks in the color and keeps mold,mildew,stains from causing major problems. Of course not needing to do this is the reason the Wallet goes for composite in the first place. Thanks all. The caddy is too wide for the window sill, however, I do like the table idea along with a runner. I have no idea whether or not the pots have drainage holes. As for our cabinets, we purchased them from a custom cabinetry place, and the paint is their stock antique white, glazed with a warm, deep brown. I don't know the actual colors. I was worried I might not like them because they're not the really bright white, but I shouldn't have concerned myself, as I just love them now. They're so warm and inviting to look at. Jan

I have had a lot of compliments from people who have seen my kitchen for the first time, and especially from those who knew what it was like before. The best compliment I have had came earlier this week when a good friend saw it for the first time and she said "It is so functional." Besides wanting it to look good, I worked hard to make it functional for us. Katybuggs, The room size is 21 feet 3 inches by 13 feet 10 inches. This also includes the area where the table is and the wall with the two antique pieces. My long run of cabinets (which is the stove wall) is 14 feet long. Our old kitchen had a wall dividing the kitchen and what used to be the family room. We exended the cabinets and made a pennisula and, yes, it was always cluttered. We would come in and drop everything there. I am working hard not to do that with the island. So far I am very pleased with everything. I do not know of anything that I would change. If we still had children at home, I think the stainless steel appliances might be hard to keep, but since it is just DH and myself we are OK. dcclerk, My long distance KD was Lyndi Sheasley from Interior Ideas, Inc. in Bellevue, WA. I know other GW'ers have used her and I got her name from here. She was very good to work with and I felt no pressure from her. I was able to take her plans to cabinet shops and get quotes to compare prices. In a small town it is very easy to make someone mad/hurt feelings, ect. so I did not want to spend time to work up designs and then not use them. I need my backsplash and curtains to be completely finished, but I did finally bite the bullet and order the tiles for my backsplash. I hope I like them when they come in! How bright is the white of the trim? Does the trim extend into the kitchen? Is it open plan? Or a separate room? If the last, don't worry about it. It doesn't matter unless it bugs you. I wanted to do all my moldings in the same white but couldn't find a good one, so I used the pure white-white (I think it was BM Superwhite) and added one part of the "Maya Brown" of my rear entry wall to twelve parts pure white. This worked so well that I did all of the white walls in 8:1 of the same, and the downstairs ceiling in 5:1. That said, can you incorporate a subtone of the eggshell/brown into the bright white?
