Your toothbrush?

In my condo, in a toothbrush holder, on my sink top.

I've been cleaning out my medicine cabinet and moved a shelf and yesterday put the toothbrush holder in there.

Sure makes my sink top look less cluttered.

Mine is electric. I don't have an outlet in the bathroom that can charge a toothbrush. So it's in my bedroom.

I keep them in the vanity drawer with a wash cloth over them for sanitary reasons. Also I like my vanities and counter tops as clear as possible.

Very interesting responses! Mags438 I was totally laughing about your dog, that is a new one to me, a bread loving dog haha. Cindy Noll, does the SS drawer help your breads stay fresher? These comments have given me some good ideas. I find we will have tortillas, hoagie rolls, sandwich bread, take and bake breads, etc. and it looks so cluttered on the counter. Texas Gem my daughter has stopped eating sandwiches which creates the problem of what to give her for lunch. Hummus and pita, cheese and crackers, lunchmeat rolls, leftovers (if at home) or school hot lunch! I probably could give her mac and cheese, chili or spaghetti in a thermos, but most of my stuff is packed up still from out move (awaiting renovation). Sometimes she'll still take a peanut butter and honey sandwich. :)

My friends are out of town for months or even years at a time and I'm enlisted to go check on their place. One winter someone broke in. I had never seen a burglarized house before. I was shocked by how completely they ransacked, tore into, emptied, shook-out, turned inside out, spilled out, split open, yanked apart every thing they could. You could not move in the house without trampling on top of the household contents that were all over the floor, beds, chairs, tables, etc. It was a disaster. My neighbors really did not have anything of money value and most of their formerly valuable possessions are now old and undesirable. Nobody steals a tube TV anymore. Nobody steals a 20 year old computer. Nobody even steals a radio. Radio, what ancient thing is that? So when it comes to hiding your keys, I'd say their is really no completely hiding them from a determined thief. I wonder if some decoy keys set out in a somewhat obvious place, plus some sacrifice-able valuables left in equally obvious places could spare your better stuff, your well hidden better stuff. What do you think?

It may have been said but keeping it in the garage is best but build a small closet in the garage that is accessible to your kitty through a cat door in the house. Then, the box really isn't in the house. The cat has a protected space vs the entirety of the garage (where he or she could hide and get out when someone comes home) and all you have to do is open a closet door to access/clean it. Just keep a trash can in the garage.

Zero aggravation using, some aggravation seeing. MAJOR brain overheating working out how to get to this point. My ideal would be a drawer with the odd stuff in the cabinet above. It works so much better than before when the bin in the freezer had who knows what in there, the skinny shelf above the spinner had unknown stuff on it and the shelf over eye level had a wide variety of loose jars but mostly terrible because oregano was on one side and fresh garlic on the other. We cook nearly every meal at home and use them all. Boogles my mind but have looked through the spinner jars and most if not all have been refilled over the years let alone get usedl. I just hate that spinner, it seems so make do with the little wire shelf next to it it, feels like it's wasting space and the shelf above is so high up. If it dies I'd fit in pull down organizers, drop the next shelf down and probably be able to put in another shelf. My ideal would be a drawer for small jars with the odd larger things in the cabinet above though. The oldest stuff in there might be the whole cloves as studding a whole ham doesn't happen these days - they smell wonderful. Ground cloves are long gone so I use a mortar and pestle when necessary. I've never noticed herbs and spices losing potency over years.. Things like whole red peppers cannot fit into little jars and it's cheaper to buy in bags so they go into the freezer with prepared fresh ginger cubes and such. A list inspires me to dig deep rather than assume we are out if what I'm looking for isn't in plain sight. I want cocoa, baking power, fresh garlic, molasses, bouillon cubes and so on with the spices, that's where they logically belong according to my brain so am stuck with a wide array of shapes and sizes of jars. What happened was the little jars that fit in the spinner hold less than what is in the refill bags and jars then we didn't know if we were out or not. No worries now. I sorted it out less than a year ago and the roasting pan only has 4 bottles left in it, 2 being surplus black peppercorns and Himalayan salt. 4 bottles of basil. I think 2 were part full too.

In the vanity drawer. But I would do well to follow your example, Glenda, and clear stuff off surfaces much better.

I have a standing toothbrush holder on my bathroom vanity. Holds 4 toothbrushes.

Mine is a standing toothbrush holder. Attractive one, but now that I moved it to the medicine cabinet, I like the way my sink top looks.

I keep mine on top of the counter b/c I read they need air circulation and to clean them often w/ either bleach or hydrogen peroxide. I've had so much dental work done in my lifetime that I do anything to help. Sometimes I put it in the bathroom window b/c it receives so much sun light. I've heard you'd be surprised how many germs live on those bristles. Dang!!

mine is a battery powered one and I keep it in a toothbrush holder on the vanity, I do soak mine in alcohol once a week or so and every day if I am sick.
They should never be in the open any where around the toilet, they did a study on how far "particles" fly when the toilet is flushed and found "particles" many feet away from the toilet. It was really amazing and quite disgusting. I never flush with the top open any more and don't keep anything in the separate room that my toilet is in.

I keep mine in a drawer these days. Used to leave them out but put them away when we/I'd expected company but after seeing the reports on the fecal spray on counters, and anything exposed, especially when the lid is left up and my roommates would never put the lid down so that was it, into a drawer, sanitize it and replace it regularly, as you should anyway. I even put my razor away, that I used to leave hanging up. Seemed to just make sense. The bacteria and stuff gets on there and you nick yourself shaving.

It was interesting to see the testing where the bacteria and other shi... er, stuff would go 8-10 feet or more across a room and toothbrushes have a natural sanitation problem by the nature of the unit.

Had the chats with a GF or two and I just said to them, in your place, I'll put the seat down, but in my place *you* put the lid down. It's pretty much common sense.

Mine is on a tile alcove overhang (alcove for a glass or something) above the bathroom sink. And I close the lid before flushing in my bathroom. .

Now this is gonna gross you all out. DH's is plugged into a charger on the back of his toilet tank. He thinks this is fine, seems to be pretty healthy and its not the hill I want to die on so I ignore it.

Mine sits near the edge of the sink ...

... and, with only three teeth to work on, lasts a long time!
