Has anyone had pleurisy/ I have had it for 7 weeks and have had fluid drained twice. Don't know what is causing it. Any input/

I smoke, so that triggers it. I take Robitussin, works for me.

I have lots of oregano and rosemary seeds, and an assortment of other herbs and veggies, and a few flowers. Take a look at my trade list and see it there's anything you'd like. I've been looking for a lot of the things you have- I would love to trade for your Lincoln peas, beets, yellow Spanish onions, salsify, atomic red carrot, purple sprouting broccoli, and/or summer savory. I would love to trade with you as well! I actually dont keep my list up to date at the moment, I wanted to know if the different varieties of violets are edible, I have jerusalem artichoke rhizomes i harvested this month plus sweet italian basil also harvested from my garden, the one you use for caprisi salads, yum, I'll email you a more detailed list. for medicinal and culinary herbs like white sage that one came from my school garden as well as vine plants like passiflora incarnata I am interested in your, Solomon's Seal - Polyonatum multiflorum, Skirret, Yarrow, Red, Basil 'Lettuce Leaf' (if the violet varieties are edible i would love some of those as well!) - Stephanie

I had it off and on for almost 30 years from the time I was about 19. At first it was frequent, eventually, about twice a year. Now it has been about 10 years since I had an attack, so I guess I don't have it any more. My doctor said that I had discovered a good way to cope (hold my ribs tight while I breathed, so it didn't hurt much) but don't worry about it, it isn't a serious condition.

Thank you all. Please do continue praying for her. She still has a lot of issues. She has to follow up with hematologist re her anemia and rheumatologist re her lupus, to see if it is the underlying factor in all of this. At some point she will have a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea??? She has an appt on Fri with her primary to help coordinate her treatment plan and med review, since she has multiple Drs prescribing. I'm trying to keep it all together, but I'm worried. No one else seems to be stepping up to help out and support her.

Pleurisy is the inflammation of the Pleura or ling of the lungs and isn't something that should be treated at home. Obviously you are having a doctors attention if you are having fluid removed and that is the best thing you can do. I would have thought they would give you an antibiotic of some kind...

My old-fashioned doctor diagnosed it right away, after 2 days of his young protoge grasping at straws and giving me Demoral for the excruciating pain - kind of like a hot poker in my side. Antibiotics right away and 5 days and nights in the recliner. Not fun. Now when I'm asked what my pain "number" is, I always refer to pleurisy as the guideline of "10".
