My sweet Precious was born...She's a mutt we got from a friend of my DS's...I just love her to death...she's sooo full of P&V...but everynight crawls onto my lap for a nightly massage...I've spoiled her rotten! I guess I better dig out a can of shrimp to celebrate her day with!

Krycek1984, I want to address a few points brought up in your post. First, there's really need for more personal attacks. There were enough of those already in this thread. While I sometimes disagree with iforgotitsonevermind, she certainly isn't generally ignorant, and even when she and I see things in almost totally opposite ways, I don't think she tries to be arrogant. Maybe she gets a little over excited, but don't well all. Iforgotitsonevermind's concern was not whether mimosa is currently considered an invasive pest in the area, but whether it had the potential to be in the near future. Your assurance that it "will not become an invasive species unless global warming goes crazy", falls short of convincing me. As I said above, I'm not convinced that it will ever become a problem, but your assertion, that it's not even close, doesn't convince me the other way, either, and seems to be based more on feeling than proof. Your question about who cares if you plant Bradford pears can have many answers including a number of invasive plant groups (which are concerned about their damage to the environment in many areas), neighbors (who worry about the trees falling over the property line onto their car, producing a foul smell, or making the neighborhood ugly when they fall apart at an early age), and those that want to share information they've learned from their mistakes or observations.

Thanks for your kind words! Dan, up here we don't need drapes or blinds for privacy, as we're all on multiple acres of land each. But, with the kitchen facing SW, it does get late-morning sun. We're thinking about having new windows put it with the blinds enclosed between them. The views are too beautiful to block even a little with curtains or shutters, IMHO. Ccoombs, you can find a lot more pics with my own descriptions, over on Rate My Space: "Lynn's New Mexican Kitchen Reno" You can also find pics and product descriptions on Finished Kitchens Blog: "Lynn's Kitchen"

What a beautiful cat she is! She certainly has the Siamese look, with some sort of long hair breed in there as well. What a gorgeous and exotic combination.

Most BEAUTIFUL "mutt siamese" I have ever seen! Even has slightly crossed eyes. She would probably like a new hair brush for her birthday too- I am sure you must go through MANY brushes!

She looks just like a Burmese Liz! The 4 white paws and blue eyes are a giveaway. She's a beauty, and she, like all our pets deserved to be spoiled.

It's amazing how quick THEY train US. Our 3 cats have us trained completely for treats and catnip. They tell us when they want them. LOL

She is not a mutt, she is a diva. All cats are royalty. She sure is a beauty. Gidget, Peggy Sue and Mango send birthday wishes and Jake would like to sniff her butt.

Those eyes look as though they could cast a spell! She's gorgeous. Happy Birthday, Precious!

My DB and DSIL have a solid white long-haired cat with blue eyes. Her name is also Precious. When my DGD was little she walked right up to the cat and then whispered to me, "Is she real!?" LOL She was so pretty that I guess she didn't know if she was stuffed, or not. Your Precious is the same way.

"God must really love cats because he makes so many of them." (That's one of my favorite sayings. Then I always think, "Well spay and neuter, then, please!" LOL)

Thanks ya'll...sure as clockwork she was on my lap last night at midnight...so I took her upstairs and broke out a can of shrimp...she's one smart cookie cause she knows the leftovers are in a ziploc bag in the frig and if I'm in the kitchen she comes round and stares at the frig...

Her Mama was a long haired brown kitty...who knows about the Dad...when I first took her in to the vet he said she was probably Birman/Himmy but who knows....she's a sweet girl and loves the doggies...for that I'm thankful...
