She was one of my "favorite people that I don't actually know" and I was really sad to hear of her passing. "You've Got Mail" is the movie version of comfort food to me. DH & my kids would bet that I have the dialogue memorized by now. It came as no surprise to me that Nora was a food person. I bet she would have enjoyed this forum. I thought "Northern Lights" was awful!!!! ZERO chemistry between the two leads/lovers, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. Two rolls in the hay, one date, and they're madly in love & want to get married?!? Continuity was terrible. Unless I missed it, I had no idea that the father was killed 15 years earlier than when the movie starts. I didn't learn that until later, through dialog. The only reason I stayed till the end was to see who the killer was. I've never read any Nora Roberts, but I hope her books are better than "Northern Lights"! Ellen

I really like her books but don't care much for the movie versions. No I didn't watch it.

I thought it was good. For anyone who did not read the stories, Sherlock Holmes was a drug addict prone to depression. In the stories he did crazy experiments like those portrayed in the movies (including shooting a gun at the wall [can't remember why]). The movie did make him into an action hero, but it was faithful to his basic character. Also, the "real" Sherlock did not have an affair with Irene Adler. I highly recommend the stories to anyone who has not read them. They are published in as books, but each story is short and stands alone. Also, the TV series with Jeremy Brett is awesome. I have not seen the Basil Rathbone movies.
