I am over here wailing and gnashing my teeth as well. We got down to 0 degrees with the wind chill. ZERO. Far below our projected zone temps. The Damasks, HPs and Gallicas were hardly phased, but my poor Chinas and Teas are looking pretty awful. What makes me even more peeved is that the bands and babies I moved inside to protect from the cold are now under full assault from aphids. The warm temps inside caused the aphid eggs to hatch and I woke up this morning to find my Vintage bands in full wilt from hundreds of aphids. There were so many aphids that they were literally crawling around the edges of their pots. 'Milkmaid' is teetering precariously on the edge of death between the temperatures and aphids, and 'Frederic II de Prusse' has given up all attempts to put out new growth. What I hate the most is that I live in Tornado Alley. So come April, when we finally emerge from this hateful, awful winter, the roses will still have to contend with gale force winds and tornados. I'm about to turn into a barbarian and make sacrifices to the weather gods on behalf of my roses. Nothing modern has worked so far to protect them and desperation is about to drive me to the brink of no return. Lol. To top it all off, I found out today that my family might be moving to Virginia in late July since my dad works for the DoD. Seems I just can't win. And what's to become of the cemetery if we move! It's enough to make one throw their hands up in frustration and call it quits. I suppose the roses and I shall soldier on though. Josh

Renee has a good point. Given that they are racing there are a lot of things done that would be rude under other circumstances. From the way taxis are hailed,the pushing and shoving through crowds and probably a lot of public vomiting during food challenges. It would be interesting to see a series of real behind the scenes "how I survived the Amazing Race" shows. But we won't see that because they want new contestants to not have the background info. A LOT of editing goes on. You could see he was looking around with a kind of urgent look on his face before he said he had to go and then decided to use the corner. Possibly a corner with a drain. The producers decided to leave it in. I'm sure plenty of racers have done the same. Especially the men. Personally I was amazed at how daintily they were eating the schnitzel. Forget the knife and fork. Pick it up and eat. That would be the only way to get all the at food down in the allotted time.

As annoying as Kent was I was still rooting for the Goths. They were the only ones who didn't openly cheat last week. I so want the Zev/Justin team to go since they a were the ones who started all the answer giving. With the teams left I want the sisters to win. They've had the best attitude throughout the race. The Globetrotters have their fame already and the dad/daughter just annoy me. Her tongue is always flapping about God or sticking out the side of her mouth like some mongrel's. LOL If they don't change the rules about giving away answers this is probably the last season I'll watch. I watch Survivor knowing it is a social game. Now they've turned TAR into a social game rather than one of couples using their own physical and mental skills. They should rename it Survivor On the Move. The "race" is no longer.

Oooo...it was a good one! I liked the team that was elimated but you are all right...they did it to themselves. They looked like nice guys and smart. I really, really like the two Drs'. I think they will be a good team...smart, fast and level headed. That watermelon really hit hard! What a surprise! That was a good challange. I didn't know what to think of those two but they did a good job and were able to laugh at themselves. Not bad. The dumb team...with all the ink...Oh My! They could not figure out about the flag, the boat or the country. They survived this leg but not by much. The Mother/Daughter team will be interesting to watch. What a story they brought to the show. Very different, that's for sure. I also like the Father/Son team. They will be fun to watch. They seem to work well together. So, we are off on another adventure around the world! Did I hear it correctly...8 elimation legs and 12 legs in all? So will the final be leg 12 or 13? Sooey who is wondering how many pair of undies they pack for such a trip.
