Thank you everyone for the prayers.

I made it through the funeral Tuesday. I can't believe my Mother is gone. I hate going to her house and Mama not be there with a smile on her face.

Amazing the relatives that come out of the woodwork when someone dies. Several told me that "your mama promised me".....or...your mama said we could have the old place real cheap. Oh heck no! Mama was a quilter...a master quilter in fact. All of my family on both sides received a quilt of their choice with a signed place on the back of it. She made each one of them with love and gladly gave them to family. So anyway....several have come up and said that Mama told them they could have their pick of several of her quilts. They said she told them this years and years ago. Funny....Mama didn't tell me! I know every member has their quilt from Mama.

I am just sick about how greedy people are when someone dies.

We had to have a closed casket. My aunts all blasted me for it because "they wanted to see her face one more time". I told them "I'm sorry about that but if you had wanted to see my Mama's face one more time you should have showed up at her house when she was alive"! We had NO choice because of bruising. Mama would NOT have wanted anyone to see her like that.

I have been the bad guy because I have stood up for what Mama would have wanted. So be it. I did what Mama wanted, not what someone who has not bothered to visit for 30 years wanted. I can't do anything about the guilt they are having....because I have no guilt!

Thanks again for all the prayers you sent up for me and my family. They helped because I was able to endure seeing my Mama casket!

Deb :o))
