Bondo fiberglass repair kit for aluminum above ground pool wall

Hi all,

I have inherited an above ground pool (which I am still digging out for). The edges of the square hole where the filter goes in the wall have started to rust away a bit by the bolt holes. I have been told it is common to use a fiberglass repair kit with cloth to repair that area. I had wanted to know how flexible this stuff is after it dries. The reason is that the pool wall is currently rolled up into an approximately 2 foot wide tube. I was thinking about unrolling the wall, fixing the damaged area then rolling it back up until I am ready to install the pool. I was just wondering if the bondo would be prone to cracking if it was flexed a bit like that. I just figured it would be easier than putting up the wall making the repair and having to wait for it to set up and dry before I could install my liner.

thanks,

Mark
