I just re-did my sewing studio.. Finally got rid of the piano and spread out... Put up new wallpaper border. I am loving it.. Pictures are on my blog... grace

You truly are amazing. Your quilt studio is beautiful as well as all of your quilts. The Debbie Mumm jumped out at me as I just finished piecing the top for it and am bringing it to my LA quilter. How do you find the time to do all those quilts and have such a beautiful web page?

I'm sure you're right, Budster. : ) The thing is, about a week ago, I thought I'd practice with the hump jumper; and afterwards, I did some practice sewing, both, on scraps of fabric. Well, the stitches didn't look right - I kept adjusting the tension, but it didn't make any difference. The stitches no longer look 'individual', and they are misspaced and grouped together, sort of thing. I had to change the needle, because I think the old needle was dull, but I ended up putting the original needle back on because the other needle didn't seem to work any better. I got a little frustrated with the stitch issue, which was another reason I put the machine away. And there is the matter of gardening; and, oh ya, spring cleaning that I haven't gotten around to yet... : P

I'm very impressed. I would love to have a craft/sewing studio separate from the rest of the house! Your studio is just perfect. I'd like to hear about & see where everyone else sews. I turned our never used dining room (only 10 x 14)into my studio. I used white cabinets too, but could use more and another closet, I have all my calico fabrics on shelves in the entryway closet which is about 10 steps from my studio, right next to a 1/2 bath/powder room. I have my machines set up in front of a double window with a beautiful front yard view. I have porceline tile floors which are easy to keep clean and find dropped pins. There is a door on a "cubby" space about 3 1/2' square and 2 to 4' high under the bottom 6 steps going upstairs that I will use for bulky stuff. It's sheetrocked in there & ready to paint, then I bought wood tiles for the floor. Your pictures really made me want more cabinets NOW!

Debra, they did too! I'd forgotten until you mentioned your mom, then I remembered Grandma showing me the ad. Too funny! You know, when they made the decision to move out there from their house (over a decade ago!), I was pretty sad. It was such a special place for us all and I had a terrible vision of what the new place would be like. The first time I walked through that new door, I was enveloped with the feeling of the old house :) Now, I realize that they made the best decision for themselves and I'm glad that she's been in such good health (with a few glitches) to be able to stay in a facility that allows so much personalization. She'll be 92, soon. I wish I lived closer, but I travel up there every summer with my kids to visit with her and my other family members. Not often enough! Your studio is wonderful--a dream. I do have my own room but no room for a "miss Daisy". I am truly impressed with the amount of work you have done. It is all so pretty it would be hard to pick a favorite.

Isn't it great to have a dedicated space just for quilting? Great idea for handling your completed tops until you can get them quilted up.

What a wonderful studio. SO much room!! It must be a joy to be surounded by so much fun and beauty. Your quilts are great. As someone said it is hard to pick a favorite.

Ooooooh. How incredibly nice! As for picking favorites, I go for the Baltimore Blues, with the green kaleidoscope running second. I just can't get enough blues and greens!

What a great space! I don't think mine will ever be straightened up enough to share pics of! It is nice to be able to confine the mess to a designated room, though.
