can I stop porch flooding without completely rebuilding?

Our house has a front porch/entry/mud room that was built on top of a cement slab with slate set into it. The cement/slate floor sits about a foot above ground level, and the porch walls come into direct contact with the cement/slate floor. However, this cement/slate floor is level, and it extends outside beyond the walls of the porch about 10 inches on all sides, so the problem is that when it rains water collects on the cement/slate outside the house and seeps into the porch under the walls. The porch is always musty smelling and I'm certain there is mold in the walls and the studs are probably rotted.

I'm wondering if there's a way to somehow correct the flooding problem and keep water out of the walls without completely ripping down the porch and starting from scratch. I have tried caulking along the outside where the siding meets the cement/slate, but this has not really helped.

Any advice would be appreciated!
