You have elegant cabinets and granite so I'm thinking something simple, classy, and elegant. What do you like-subways, 4 x 4s, glass? What is your granite-colors?? I'm sure you will find something amazing to go with the rest of your stunning kitchen.

I want the cherry cabinets to remain the focal point. The granite is Giallo Napoli. The floor is travertine.

What do I like? I wish I knew. I feal totally out of my element trying to decide on this.

I was originally thinking of a stone tile but all the ones I have found seem a little busy. Here are a couple I am considering. The first is a crackle glass. The second is a stone / glass combination.

The following is a 4x12 glass tile I saw at the place I purchased my granite. I think it would look lovely and not too overwhelming.

I like the first crackle glass in the neutral tone. Think it would continue to highlight your warm cabs and pretty counters. I think the second glass tile would focus attention to the walls and their striking color. I vote for anything creamy-taupe/tan.

I vote something creamy too--pull a light color from the floor and granite for the backsplash--it will really make the cabinets pop. If you want to bring in some green (I assume the pretty wall color is staying?), then the tiles remodelfla suggests would be perfect.

Here's a less-busy stone called "light travertine" from Carmel Imports... we used the bottocino (less yellow, but still creamy) for our backsplash, and I love it!

I REALLY appriciate all the suggestions. I will get some samples ordered today.

My current thought is to NOT take the backsplash all the way up because I don't want to cover all the green wall. I have very little wall in the kitchen that is not covered by the cabinet runs.
