I cooked some dried lima beans, so had them over a slice of bread. Also, opened a can of beef and nibbled on it cold. I buy the cans from Amish country. There's no 'use by' date on the cans so try to use them up within 5 or 6 months.

I made a meatloaf so DH woud have something to eat while I'm away. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and sweet and sour red cabbage.

Gadgets, I wonder if the Amish canned meat is similar to what my mother used to describe that my GM made. I'm not sure if "canned" meant like canning in glas jars or a metal can. But I'm thinking it was canned in glass jars, but my grandparents owned a canning factory so it could have been either one. Whatever, she said it was the best meat ever!

Patti, what are porcupines? I made veal Marsala (except I used Pinot Noir!)with spaghetti in garlic and oil, and broccoli (which I burned, but hubby still ate.)

We had a quick cookout of sausages and hot dogs, baked beans, chips and mac and cheese with some of the kids here. They have been doing lots of yard work for us. I did not go to church today so I had my food I had fixed to take, we had that at noon time and I also fixed some peas, corn and a pasta bake for the kids and us. It has been a long day, but they did a lot. It was a beautiful sunny day and in the upper 70's.

Today was grocery store day and that just wears us out, the unloading and finding place for it all whew recliner time!!

Flounder, corn bread muffins, oyster casserole and black eyed peas.

Chicken taco soup and, and, um....something else, haven't gotten that far yet.

Steak, mashed potatoes, sauteed asparagus, sauteed mushrooms. It was so good! Going to make some 3 2 1 cakes with pineapple cake mixed with pineapple juice. Then will spoon pineapple over it and squirt some whipped cream on them.
