Outside Patio Table: Round or Rectangle?
Comments (6)We have a 54" round table. It works well for us, we have 7 chairs easily around the table (bought 6, but one was slightly damaged in shipping so it was replaced). I like round tables as it's easy to see and converse with everyone when seated. Most times it's just the family outside dining in the summer evenings and this works best for us. When we have guests over we have an additional folding picnic table and the kids will often sit there. I do agree, though, to chose what fits best in your space and lifestyle....See MoreRound or Rectangle Table for this space? Images inc.
Comments (7)This is such a personal preference. I would go for the round for several reasons: You already have a lot of squares with the floor and the door mullions so round would break up the boxiness. Plus I'm guessing you have kids (since you're seating 5). With a round one it's easier to include an extra person and it's nice for conversations. It looks like the area gets some through traffic and with a round table there won't be run-ins with the corners. Any lefties in the group? Round also helps them out too!...See Morerectangle or round table
Comments (24)I love round tables. IMHO, a round table must go in a square room (which yours essentially is). Most DR are not square, so round tables are less common. I would totally do a round 72" for 8-10. With leaves if you have more. ETA - re the above ... do you have other eating areas? I would not use a formal DR for dinner for 3 anyway....See MoreRound or Rectangle Chandelier Help
