I can't see them storing at all, maybe 2-3 weeks if picked green like a pear -- well, ok, they basically are a pear, but a summer pear, not a winter, storage pear like Bosc or Winter Nellis or Olympic Giant. I let my few fruits - I had about 6 or 8 but the critters got all but 2 or 3, ripen fully on the tree until soft and golden in color. I would say they would store about like a Bartlett, which in my experience isn't very long.

I could have written the same title but it would have said "Help -- my 7 year old is too bossy" -- not her friend. I always describe my DD as a "natural born leader." She doesn't out and out boss, but does like to be in control of the fun and games. When she plays with friend, I usually give her a few gentle reminders to let other kids go first or choose what to do. I honestly think she gets so caught up that she forgets. Anyhow, some things I've noticed about this age: each girl (I only have girls) seems to have some sort of personality flaw. Some are bossy, some are caddy (like you one day, not the next), some are manipulative (I'll only play with you if we do XXX), some like to leave other kids out of the play... Though my child's "leadership" tendencies worry me, I am thankful that she usually always tries to include everyone in the fun. Anyhow, back to your problem. Another thing I've noticed is that most kids will only put up with being bossed around for so long. Then they usually migrate to other children that are not like that. That is why I tell me kid "nobody likes a bossy friend." So, when you can, maybe give reminders like "make sure you guys are taking turns". It would also probably help if you DD expanded her friendships beyond this girl. I don't think girls need to have best friend at this age. One day they think Sally is the best, the next day all you hear about is Mary, etc... Could your DD be smothering this girl? You might also suggest to your DD that she purposely not sit by this girl on the bus, ever. Let the other girl come to her if she chooses. Why set her up for rejection? Good luck. okay, we need to have some terminology straight: Static Pressure is the force exerted by the water against the pipes while the water is turned off. It's measured in Pounds per Square inch (psi) Volume is the amount of water that moves past a given point in a period of time. It's measured in Gallons Per Minute (gpm). Dynamic Pressure is a little more tricky than the two things above. Dynamic pressure is force against the pipes at a given volume. In a typical system, as the water volume goes down, the dynamic pressure will go up - until the volume is 0 and the dynamic pressure = static pressure. To understand this idea, take a garden hose with nothing on the end and turn it on. Then restrict the flow with your thumb. The water will spay further because you have increased the dynamic pressure by introducing a restriction on the flow. Okay, all of that aside - my guess is that you are experiencing less volume through your faucets than before. With out getting into the actual demand of these fixtures, I would have run 3/4" pipe the length of the house, both hot and cold, as well and reduced it down to 1/2" at the branch to the fixture. I think that he needs to come back out and check for malfunctioning valves, clogged aerators, malfunctioning thermal traps on the water heater, etc. With the caveat that I haven't seen exactly what was done, I would have done something similar. If you are now having problems, I don't think it's with the design - I think there is some other problem - a problem that he may have introduced with the work that he did - but not the size of the pipe.
