Look where my daughter was today!!!

Here's a picture of my daughter with the CEO and some other executives from her company. Today they actually met with a Presidential aide in the Executive Office Bldg. She's such a tiny little thing but has a very big brain. LOL

Woozer! Have you had a chance to talk to her since? Don't ever underestimate short people!! (Speaking from experience.) Can't wait to hear what she had to say about the experience!!

Sorry to hear about the kitty Jean. I had a FIV positive cat named Ginger and I kept her with other cats that were not FIV positive but were vaccinated against it. She lived for six years, ultimately dying from a bad tooth which was successfully removed and she started to recover, but then had to be put under anesthesia again to cautertize the gum area and this time didn't come out of it and went semi-comatose. She was also not making red bood cells. My vet said I could get her a blood transfusion but the donor had to be a healthy cat from the shelter (who would lose it's life) so I said no and had her put down. The one thing is she can't be with cats not vacinated at all and that means no outdoors as you don't know who she will run into and spread the disease. Like 3CD said, I would require a positive test, or maybe even test twice before I made any decision. I've never heard of a vet that 'knows' a cat has HIV or AIDs without some sort of blood test just based on streaking on the tongue. If it was my decision to make I would get the test done. If infected I would probably put her down. I hope things work out. CT

Interesting....I've never considered a wheel bug as a large insect. Trees, by "looked just like a cricket " are you referring to large hind legs used for jumping? If so, could it have been a grasshopper? If no to the jumping legs, what about this insect makes you think of a cricket? Can you absolutely eliminate any category of insect....like beetles or wasps? Without a picture, we need more help.

I knew I should have stayed out of the Korth post! WOW Rita, I am so envious and would love the opportunity to spend a day just wandering through your garden and "sighing". Every single one of those blooms is just fabulous! I just love love love ARNOLD'S DAUGHTER (same with GRACE LIGHT RAIN) and don't believe that I had seen REGAN KATE before but that one is fabulous too. It might help you to also do a search for 'birdcage bed'. It is a lot of money, and I wonder how soon the novelty will wear off. She is already 12 - will it be cool at 15? As an alternative, you might just get a cool metal bed frame (headboard and footboard) and then ceiling mount curtain rods and hang fabric from those at the four corners of the bed that she can pull closed on all sides and create her own private space. Or make a center round wooden plaque that you paint and then staple fabric to that to create draping, using towel rings at the four corners to drape the fabric through to kind of mimic the birdcage bed swag. Well, that's exciting!! She's tiny, but very pretty! My DD is a lot smaller than I (5'3"), but I'm guessing she's probably taller than your daughter.

I have a small daughter too, and she got her short stature from her paternal grandmother. The women in my family are all tall.

I talked to her this evening. She said that it was a real thrill to be there, that the interior of the building is beautiful and very impressive, and that the meeting did not go as well as they had hoped. She is 4'11" and adopted.
