Nona, I loved how you "surprised" your kids. LOL I posted while ago on my other thread of Bad Day, that your prayers obviously working again. Fred should be home tomorrow as it looks like the blood thinners broke up the blockage. They want to recheck in the morning but sounded pretty positive today that he's ok. WHEW. Now to get thru doc appt with my Dad, who's 84 and lives with me. Heart disease and kidney disease. He had some tests done last week, has an aortic aneurysm and they want to be sure it hasn't gotten any larger. Plus some sort of doppler test on his legs as he's barely able to walk from bedroom to kitchen. He's really not a good candidate for any surgery, so I am praying they won't say he needs it. Seems like one worry after another around here lately. But I read a wonderful quote earlier and immediately thought of all of you..... He was admitted to the hospital yesterday for bleeding. He's not doing too good folks. Please keep them both in your prayers. Here's part of an email I got from Ida tonight: (Damond was admitted into the hospital at Winfield yesterday after he passed out in the driveway while Mike (ex son-in-law) and I were trying to get him to the truck to get him to the ER. We called 911 and got an ambulance. He is bleeding and would not have lasted long at home. He has received 7 units of blood and 2 bags of frozen plazma trying to get his blood thick enough so his blood count will rise. He's losing it about as fast as it's going in. Things do not look good for him, but Dr Spruiell thinks the bleeding is under the skin in his stomach and is caused from all the blood thinners he was on. Just wanted you to know what is going on. Scissors, this sounds like very new news for them, they are probably reeling. I know with some people it takes those further Dr. appointments, when a plan is laid out and they have action of some kind, any kind, that they can take, begin, before they are able to talk or want people around. Hopefully when they know what kind of help they might need, they will be more open to it. I have a dear friend, related by marriage, who is just beginning chemo (2 weeks now) and she has admittedly turned into a raging control freak (I say that lovingly). She has limited control over her medical plan of action and her illness, so she's going to control what she can: us. Just be as understanding as possible, and make it clear you are available on his terms. I'll add prayers for peace and hope for all of you...

Wonderful news! My sister found a lump in her breast years ago, had it removed surgically. It was just a cyst from a blocked milk duct, but she had a hard time recovering from the anesthesia. Turns out she was pregnant with her first child and it was morning sickness.So she had a very happy ending!
