John Forsythe passed away

he was 92 years old. I never every watched Dynasty, but wasn't he on some old tv show.. a long time ago?

He was the voice of Charlie, in Charlies Angels.

He sure lived a long full life it sounds like.

He was in Bachelor Father. I remember him the most from Charlie's Angels.

I went out and sat with my bush of Magnificent Perfume which has always been such an elegant bush. Right next to it is Amazing Grace. So I sat between them and thought of a man I never met but shared some joy with through his creations and the ones he loved and helped to make available to us in the U.S.A. I loved his descriptions of his beloved roses. I always got healthy plants from his nursery and enjoyed watching them grow into sturdy shrubs. I bought a Peach Silk from him because - through his words,his love for it seemed genuine to me. I think it's one of the most beautiful and floriferous climbing roses I've ever grown. Every year, it surpasses itself. It grows next to a David Austin Charlotte and Jude the Obscure and stands out as a rose of elegant beauty and grace. I never had to spray it even once. I just want anyone who might read this and knew him to know that I appreciate what was shared with me through the catalogs and the wonderful roses that share their lives with me. May he be surrounded in a paradise of roses for all eternity.

Poor Goldie girl passed away

I'm sorry about your daughters's dog too Mary. Our son sent us a utube video he made for Goldie today and it was so sweet it made me cry looking at all the pics he had of Goldie and Mercedes over the years. They are together again now. I am wondering if something of her is still here at meal time though. Something weird is going on with BB. They never fought over food but each waited for their bite of leftovers when we finished eating. Now BB looks at the place where Goldie passed away and growls and all the hair stands up on her neck and she won't go in her crate to sleep anymore and usually goes to bed before we do. Its right next to the door where she was last. I hope she settles down. Its creeping me out. She does this for hours after supper the last couple of nights until after we go to bed.

Casey, thank you very much for posting that link. What a neat thing he did for a young girl. I remember when my 16th birthday came, I wished so bad that it would turn out awesome just like "Samantha Baker's from "Sixteen Candles". And any girl my age who grew up with not a lot of money dreamed of being like Andy in Pretty in Pink, and finding a sweet guy like Blaine. He made so many movies that were a big part of my teenage years.

I don't agree with Joe Biden on many things, but I have always felt that he was a good man. And I have always been impressed by the fact that he raised those two boys, despite the long hours his job demanded (and the long commute times). I can't begin to imagine the pain he is feeling right now. My heart goes out to him and his family...and especially to Beau's children.

I just read the obituary on the news wires. It didn't even mention Charlie's Angels!!! How odd is that?? What is this "The Bachelor Father". What was the premise? Was he a widower, divorced, what? What years did it run? I have never heard of it. I keep seeing "The Courtship of Eddy's father" in my head. I loved that one!

I've never heard of The Bachelor Father. I remember him well in Charlie's Angels, and don't forget Fantasy Island!

What a classy gentlemen. Wow, he lived a long time, that's great.

I consider myself lucky to have seen his work on the big screen, on TV and on stage. Dignified gentleman and fine actor. RIP

Fantasy Island? Was that the show started "De plane! De plane!" with the little man? I believe the leading man of that show was Ricardo Montabon (another fine actor and gentleman) not John Forsythe

It's funny but I went to Clearwater FL a month ago for Phillies spring training. While there I watched Retro TV, a station we don't get here in Philly. It only has old TV shows. I watched Daniel Boone a few times; came home and Fess Parker died. Saw Bachelor Father; now John Forsythe is dead. I watched The Incredible Hulk but Bill Bixby has been dead for a few years now. I also saw the Rockford Files........
