Unless you're ambivalent, decide on how much motion and what kind of motion you like. Don't fall in love with a name, fall in love with a specific slab or group of slabs. If you're dealing with a granite yard, make a note not only of the name, but also the lot number and the slab number(s) you want. Even within a lot there can be significant variations. If you search this forum you will find some outstanding examples of delicatus gold, namibian gold, and solarius. While all 3 of these can be INTENSELY gold, but if you find the right lot you will have a gorgious whitish background with infusions of golds and greys and creams. When you find the slab you like, get a hold on it right then and there. It's not like you can wait for an identical one to come in in the next lot. When that slab is gone, it's gone. If you're in Massachusetts, we may be the couple next to you agonizing over the same slabs :) Good hunting...See MoreWhite Lexus, Kashmir White or Bianco Romano - Opinions Please
Comments (4)Yes, we have the upgraded sealer but it was free with a promotion. I bought a cleaner that says it's a cleaner sealer so I use that to clean it with and so far so good. I've had spaghetti sauce, coffee, all sorts of stuff and so far no stains. I was thinking maybe you could get them to throw in that sealer for you. I don't know if this is true for your fabricator or not but they usually put some kind of sealer on and then want extra for the lifetime or in our case it was called a 15 year sealer. It's a money making thing for them. You could do it yourself for less. The sealers are available online. I don't think I would let that deter you too much but that is only in my opinion!!! I have Carrera in an upstairs bath and that is the one that is really worrying me! It's so pretty right now and I didn't put the upgraded sealer on it and have yet to do the sealer myself. It was helpful to read on GW that the sealer did not change the color and that was what I was afraid of. Good luck with your decision!! Comments (2)Those are definitely 2 of my favorite stones...Nice choices!! However, I was thinking that having the lighter stone, the one that is more tone-on-tone with the cabinets instead of the drastic contrast, on such a large island in the center of the room will keep the room looking lighter, overall. A 9 1/2 ft window...How wonderful! My kitchen window is the biggest I've ever had at 6 1/2 ft, but I could appreciate bigger. Mostly I'm jealous of the bumpout, which I didn't see here until too late. I can't wait to see your kitchen!...See MoreRequesting pics of your backsplash with Bianco Romano granite?
