That is a beautiful stand!

I am thinking it would crowd the space though. It looks like a space with a lot of activity going on. The stand is so beautiful but it would hardly be seen in that spot.

Do you already own the stand? Or are you considering buying it? If you have it already I would definitely use it but find a "showplace spot" for it.

If you are trying to bring some green and flowers into the area to give it life, maybe put flower boxes on top of the wall and have vines trailing down. That would really accent the fountain too. Maybe have flower boxes on the outside of the railing with something growing in them too.

I don't have the stand, but was considering buying it. It is pretty, isn't it.

Your idea about the flower boxes with vines coming down sounds nice. I'll have to see if I can find some and possibly do a mockup.

It's a lovely plant stand, but I agree that it might tend to crowd that area a bit and detract from your pretty fountain. Is there anywhere else you could use the stand?

Here's a few other pics of the deck. Do you see another place that the plant stand would look nice? I do need to do something with the area behind the furniture to take the focus off the grill.

Could you use it between the two chairs that are in front of the grill? If it wouldn't be too much in the way in that spot, I think that might work. You could add plants that would help camouflage the grill as you're seated in that area.

I can see a tallish plant there to complement the fountain, but also think the stand itself competes with your beautiful fountain.

auntjen, that's a possibility. I went ahead and ordered the plant stand and I'll figure it out when it gets here. I really like it and think it will work somewhere on the deck.

tgd, initially I was thinking of a tall plant for that area. Would you put it directly under the fountain? And what type of plan are you thinking of?

I hadn't really thought of a specific plant. An umbrella plant might look nice. Or one of those taller tropical draceana types with the stalk like limbs.

I would place the plant stand over where you have to broom next to the door.

Peace lilies get large and lush and have such elegant blooms that would highlight your fountain nicely. You could use a side table to get more height and not really be seen.

dd50, thank you. That corner does need something as long as it's not too deep that it gets in the way of the door.

I really like the stand and am sure you'll find a place for it. It looks nice enough to use in the house too.

Don't know about space allotment, but I am kind of bothered by everything at an angle, and all gathered around the little table in the center.

Would it work to put the loveseat in front of the window, the two matching chairs on the 'wall' where the fountain is, and then put the rocker on the corner opposite the chairs?

I think the plant stand would be pretty against the railing, right where a wider support post is, opposite where the loveseat will be in front of the window. I think putting it under the fountain creates one long vertical feel, and neither piece will be as special.
