What's For Dinner Tonight?

For those of you who aren't having your Easter dinner today, what's on the menu?

We stayed home today and I made 2 loaves of Honey Wheat bread. (I haven't tried making the Struan bread again, since the last time, when I made a "brick". But I will!)

I put a roast beef in the slow-cooker and put chopped carrots, minced garlic and sliced onions on the bottom. Mixed some crushed tomatoes, some tomato paste, 1/4 cup red wine, the last bit of chili sauce that was in my jar, a tbsp brown sugar, salt and pepper, some hot sauce, and a bay leaf.

Cooked all day on Low. Sliced the meat and served with the sauce with baked potatoes and steamed carrots.

It was really good.....the flavour is just like a Swiss Steak.

It made a lot of sauce, so I whizzed the sauce, carrots and onions in the blender so it's really thick. I'll cut the leftover beef into small chunks, simmer in the sauce and serve over fusilli, macaroni or penne for dinner this week.
