We had family here for a birthday this weekend, and I made wonderful pork ribs, au gratin potatoes, and green beans almondine with cake and ice cream. The ribs are not that much work and cook slowly over hours, and so they can be delayed or kept in the oven as people gather.

Then for my son who flew home, we had one of his favorites=--meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I think I like meatloaf even better the next day as cold meatloaf sandwiches with lots of ketchup. The left over mashed potatoes can be formed into fat patties and fried in butter. Yum!

We're going to do kabobs tonight with chicken breast, onion, yellow squash and zucchini, mushrooms and green peppers. I'll marinate everything in some ginger dressing before putting them on the skewers. I'll probably serve them over a bed of brown rice and field peas. Yum.

Rhizo invite ME to your home, please!!! I'll do the dishes afterwards, too.

I think I'll just do pork chops, with boiled new potatoes, carrots and a salad. Lots of spices on the chops.

Had the day off yesterday and raided the fridge/freezer and cupboards. We're doing chipped beef on toast.

We had a fried turkey when Nita and Murraysmom were here and we have leftovers. I just got a new low carb recipe for waffles so I think we will have turkey and waffles.

I just got home from grocery shopping. Just me for this evening so I think I will just have a bowl of cereal unless I change my mind. Had a nice Chicago Style steak frank from Steak and Shake today along with my unsweetened iced tea.

Today was big grocery shopping day. I had a bowl of cream of broccoli soup at McDs. For supper, I brought home Arby roast beef sandwich. And now the benefit of doing this is that there are no dishes to wash.

I also bought a Taste of Home cookbook when I was out. Maybe I will come up with something for tomorrow from that.

Nuked two hot dogs in the microwave and used slices of wheat bread for buns. Just didn't do it for me, they weren't very tasty at all. And as far as whole wheat breads, I like them; but a good ole' white bread hot dog bun would have made them taste a little better. My stomach is protesting already.

Big shell pasta, tuna and chicken curry gravy stirred in, topped with cheese. I cheated and ate it for lunch, DH gets it for dinner.

Linguini with ham and asparagus. Somebody needs to eat the angel food cake and fresh strawberries. I hate to see food wasted!

this entire month is any subway footlong sub for $5 so I took advantage of that today! Went out and got my hair cut and picked up subway for dinner.

Yes, Kath, we have broccoli cheese and chicken noodle soups at the local McDs.....but only in the fall/winter. I think there's also a vegetable beef but ours doesn't carry that one.
