Comments (9)Thanks, paintguy. I wish I could get that validation from the company or even from Masonite that makes a similar door. (Called them, too.) :( I mean, it's not a rocket-science question for the people who make the product, right? Your explanation that modern-day acrylics, especially good quality like Sherwin Williams, are more durable than older or cheaper products makes perfect sense. I've waited y-e-a-r-s to replace all my interior doors, and I really want satin finish. I don't want to have 12 passage/privacy & 6 sliders & bifolds "reflecting light" when the sun hits them because they're semi-glossed! Satin, IMO, on doors is way more classy. Semi-gloss on trim? Comments (20)It was adhered with wallpaper paste. I don't know where he got the material, but it was not coarse like burlap bags, so I'm assuming a fabric store. It was a really dramatic look because it was well planned. Modern, original art in mostly bright colors, each lit with a ceiling-mounted spotlight. Comments (3)Remember that shinier paints highlights surface imperfections and tend to feel institutional. These days there is a large selection of high quality paints that have a low sheen and can still be scrubbed clean. Like the previous comment I would suggest an eggshell finish which has a soft glow and can be wiped clean. Ask at your local paint store which paint lines in your chosen brand will be most scuff resistant but look for a premium self priming paint for best results....See Morekitchenchaos
