No problem with Dawn products here and still can get really large bottles both at wm and Sam's club.

It seems to me the Dawn doesn't cut grease like the old Dawn did. Which variety do y'all buy?

Mine is the plain liquid, not the 'foamy' variety. It's blue and the label says "Dawn Ultra - Original Scent".

I'm using Palmolive now; it does a better job.

I've been meaning to try the Dawn with "power scrubbers" but I'm very pleased with both Dawn and Joy and both do the job so well for me (so far anyway) that I don't want to pay more to try something else.

Frankly, other than the look and maybe smell, I can't tell the difference between Dawn and Joy performance-wise. The P&G rep I talked to once denied that they were the same formula - she said they were very different, but whatever, they work fine for me. I really like the Dawn (haven't tried the Joy version) with bleach alternative. It really perked up some plastic microwave cookware that I had.

Yes the bottles are getting smaller but I'm getting it cheaper for the most part when I watch it so it's not much different than before other than you need more bottles. When Walgreens puts it on sale for 79¢-89¢ and I find a coupon it's about 50¢-60¢/bottle. I bought some of the refill size at Target during their Value Valley clearance for about $3 for a 55(+) oz jug plus a small bottle 11(+) oz which nets out to about 50¢ a bottle. At Target I can always get Joy for less than $2 for a 30? oz bottle too.

I use Dawn for a lot of things around here. And I guess I've always been generous with dish soap. I have picked up a few bottles of the Direct Foam that I use a lot for one or two items. Very foamy. And the price on that FWIW has dropped over $1/bottle which way more than offsets the couple oz less in size from before.

I keep track of prices and watch for deals. I will buy even when I don't need it when the price is right. I don't like paying full retail for stuff like this.

I think you are right about Dawn. It has always been my favorite but I am going to change when I use up all I have on hand.. Our Meijer has the large bottle of Joy on sale for $1.00 quite often. Next time I am going to stock up.

Right now I'm using Palmolive since I got a good deal.

I have been using the Palmolive dry skin with aloe dish liquid in the 25 oz. size. Dont have to use much, just a few drops and let them soak and then clean them. No streaks, no obnoxious smell that lingers on the dishes and I call them every few months and they send me a dollar coupon that I use when it goes on sale. I wouldnt use anything else. AND I have to use very little hand lotion at all. I used to buy hand lotion in a gallon jug but not since using this product. I highly recommend it!

I used Palmolive for many, many years and switched to Dawn just a few years ago. I like Dawn better. I don't use all that much of it because I put most things in my dishwasher. I really like the Dawn foam that I pump onto a sponge or dish rag.

There's a definite difference in Dawn. The 16 oz bottle is now 15 oz, and I think the bottle even looks smaller. I bought a 24 oz size and have been refilling the smaller bottle because it fits my hand better. But it is not the same Dawn that it was. On the larger bottle it says Ultra concentrated and original scent. It doesn't make as much suds as before. Although I think most of us use more than we should because we think suds means clean; just like with laundry detergent.

Marketing all these let's-fool-the public products is going to backlash after a while.

While on the subject. I buy the JOY type liquid with the lemony scent. I use it to pour down ant hills in the lawn and near the driveway. a couple of squirts and they move someplace else.

Dawn used to be my favorite for many years, but now I can't stand the smell of it either. I get an el cheapo dish detergent from our Food Depot and love it.

I swear Dawn has changed its formula in the last 10-15 years. It doesn't cut grease the way iot used to. I had to hand-wash dishes for a couple OF months when my dishwasher was broken. I used up an awful lot of Dawn. I think I'll switch around and try some other brands-maybe Joy or Palmolive. Or the store brand. .

I agree. I've tried several different brands the last few months and they all seem weaker and less powerful to clean up grease, etc. (I sound like a commercial! LOL)

Ah, so it isn't just me. I wonder if this is part of the 'green' movement? Maybe the de-greaser ingredient we liked is not earth friendly? More likely it got more expensive and they cut it.

Marry -- I'll look for that Seventh Generation Free and Clear. I tend towards sneezing fits with the Dawn anyway.

All the "New & Improved" products are a ripoff!! I'm thinking the danged grease is just getting more powerful!! LMAO

They still show tv ads of using Dawn to wash baby ducks, birds and seals when they had oil-spills.
The poor little things wouldn't smell nice and clean if you guys don't like the smell anymore. Not to mention the grease-cutting action isn't the same.

30+ years ago I tried some Palmolive and it damned near took the skin off my hands. I thought it was horrifically hard on my skin. (No matter what Madge said, in her commercials! LOL)

I just add some vinegar to the water when I have greasy dishes. Vinegar cuts the grease.

Palmolive is the only one that doesn't bother my hands. I guess we each are different.

I haven't noticed cause most of my stuff goes in the dishwasher and this Bosch will flat clean anything!! I always add a splash of bleach to my dishwater when I'm cleaning up...I've got Dawn...but haven't noticed much difference!

I don't like a lot of suds in my dishwater. I read somewhere years ago that the "suds" aren't what clean the dishes..it's the soap and for better cleaning to add the detergent to the water after you've filled the sink.

Right now I'm using Ajax Orange. 2 quarts for $2.97 at Walmart! That'll do me a long time!
