I see how the rods are different color than the materials on the finials. That being said I really think you should stick with the rings that came with the rod. They match the rod which is what I think they should do. This way the rings and rod match like the company intended them to do. Give us a shot of the actual company rings and let us see. I really think they will look best.

You can buy unpainted wooden rings. If you did that you might be able to paint to match.

I can do that, but I estimate it will be another week and a half before they would come in. ARG!

I wish I had known I could order them long ago. They were not available at the store, and I thought TM only had items in stock that were seconds. I just noticed my rods were listed online, along with the "matching" rings. I still worry that they will be darker than the rod. Doesn't it look like it to you in the picture? They look very similar as the Lowe's rings.

If Tuesday Morning would let me return the rings to the local store, I could go ahead and order both the matching and antique brass colors.

If it were me, I'd probably try to match the antique brass instead since it's the accent color. That would look great and you may have an easier time finding a match that works since their not directly next to each other.

That said, I know the beauty is often in the details but you have such a wonderful home with lots for the eye to see, do you think anyone is really going to notice if they're off just a tad and not exact? I mean I can be detailed to a fault at times and still wonder, does anyone really notice that sort of stuff?

OK, I still haven't decided because I would really like to get this project over with.

I think I will stop by Lowe's this evening and grab a can of antique brass (or would my best bet be Michaels?) and try a bit on something metal. I'd have to get one that adheres to metal (Rustoleum) so that it will hold up.

Then, if I don't like the look, I will order the rings from Tuesday Morning. My DH will kill me, but I would order both the matching and the AB rings. :-)

tinam61 - I'll look into that, but I believe the wooden rings may be more than I want to spend, plus a lot more painting to do.

lukkiirish - You are so kind. I know that it probably wouldn't be noticeable to others, but I would know.

I tend to side with you on the antique brass.

I got in touch with Internet sales of TM. They said I could return any unwanted rings to the local store.

Ordering both sets of rings, to the tune of $117 (includes the $16.97 shipping.) One of these has to work!

I got my rings at Big Lots of all places for 4.99 for a set of 14. I'm not sure if they are big enough for what you need or if they even have any left but they are the dark brown color. Just an idea in case you have a Big Lots nearby.

I did check Big Lots a few weeks ago. They had a good selection but nothing large enough. I am also steering away from the dark bronze family. :) Big Lots has some good buys on a few things. I found 95" faux suede curtains for my sons apartment last year that were only $5 a panel! You cannot beat their prices on foam planters. The ones I bought a few years ago have held up nicely.

Good find on the 95" curtains. Those seem to be hard to find at a regular store. Don't know why they wouldn't sell more of them to meet the need that I'm sure is there.

I used antique brass rings (JCP) on LR/DR/Foyer rods (antique brass JCP dead on match). I used an entirely different decorative rod in my office with the same drapery as LR/DR/Foyer and the antique brass rings. While the rings are not an exact match to the rod in my office, they look fine. In fact I never gave it a thought until your post. I just took a look to be sure I was correct in what I was posting and the rod itself in the office is black, but while the rod itself is black, the finials are black with a bit of antique brass showing through. So, point being, find the best match you can and call it a day. There's no way anyone else is going to take that much notice of your rings. They are going to notice the overall look.

FWIW, I like the rings to the left of the first pic with those rods. I am not loving the heaviness of the rings to the right.

I actually had been on a search myself of rings to fit my large rods and couldn't find any locally (I live in a small town)..

I did find some 2 inch on ebay but I needed satin nickel..I got 50 (enough for all my panels) for around 35 bucks. I checked with that seller and they have them in antique brass and looks identical to the ones you just posted.

This link is for the 1 3/8 inch, but if you read the body of the listing you'll see they also have 2".

I think shipping time for mine was 5 days!

work_in_progress_08 - Thanks for that info on what you did. I feel confident that one of the two colors I ordered will work this time. The funny thing is that I have come up with a different way to hang the curtains on the clips, and the rings barely show now. LOL I wasn't satisfied with the clippy part. They made the curtains look less elegant. The way I have it now, the clip is attached at the back of the lower rod pocket, so the top pocket sits up slightly over the clips and rings. Hope this works.

Got a nice surprise this morning. Fed Ex rang the bell and had my TM rings. Just 3 days after I ordered them!

I like both colors, but have not hung either. Once I decide, I will hang all curtains and take photos. I will post a new thread. May take a while because I brought my 29 year old daughter home from the hospital last night to recoup. She had a kidney stone attack on Thursday and finally passed a rock the size of Manhattan. She was scheduled for surgery to break it up, before passing it naturally, yesterday morning. Says she never wants children. lol She is still in pain. :-(

Hope she is feeling better soon NHB! OUCH!!!

OK, so glad I went with my instinct and ordered the Antique Brass. Although not as brassy looking as I thought they would be (don't match the brass colored final,) the rings DO match the rod better than the rings that are suppose to match the rods. There is only a very slight different (DD cannot tell the difference) but I can tell and like the AB better.

So, unless someone says otherwise, I will be using the AB and taking the others back. Now to steaming, pressing, hanging weights, and clipping on rings.
