Mine is getting filled as we speak and the area will continue to be a work in progress with an Ivory travertine patio floor down the road. This is a modest existing pool remodel. We took out the silly spa with its four puny jets, odd size, and no light and made it into a conversation niche. In the before design you couldn’t heat up the spa without heating up the entire pool. Surface- Wet Edge New Zealand Tropical- peal matrix but with the deeper blue/green dye used in the Chilean Tahoe. The last picture with spa and orange coping is the Before .

cda, a couple of posts above yours, she answered your question, but to someone else. Here's her response: David: The river rok is a mixture color. Its the lycan (spelling) blue with the gray color. erictac: The pool builder was Pulliam Pools in Katy. I couldn't be happier! And the cost was mid-50k's. A bargain in my opinion for the equipment (hayward) they used, how clean they were and how efficient and fast)! LOL I can't say enough great things about them. Ask for Chris if you use them and tell them Crystal sent ya and he will give ya a better deal! ;)

Readyami, thank you! We have some "mixed metaphors" going on with the Texas star decorations and the un-tiki gazebo, but I've always been kind of eclectic anyway, LOL! :-) Tim, thanks! When I was putting the skull up I was thinking "This belongs on Tim's pirate ship", haha! The ball is a Japanese glass fishing float (this one is actually a modern replica), a long time favorite decoration in tiki bars and restaurants the world round. It's as required a staple as the traditional hanging puffer fish lamp (I have one of those too) :-) Mostly they were hung indoors in arrangements of different colors and different heights and sometimes were lighted from within. I can't direct-link the photos, but if you look at the thread linked below (photos of vintage tiki bars) you'll see what I mean. They were also popular as A-frame decorations. My A-frame is actually a little teeny version of the real thing, the traditional A-frames built on restaurants and bars were enormous and had gigantic glass fishing float replicas, period light fixtures or even outrigger canoes hanging under them. Hope all is well Kim, haven't seen you post. I don't want to hijack your post but to respond to mike and mzen. Yes Mike the market is well off, over 26k houses are on the MLS now. You picked a good time to visit, great weather! Mzen, I have electrical with GFI within 8 feet of pool edge. pool is 14 years old. Building codes were revised in 2006 and all jurisdictions in the valley are updating to meet them. Henderson is the easiest to deal with, they were right on top of all changes we needed for permits for patio covers and concrete, we don't do electic. I would double check with Henderson as they are the ones that sign off on permits. Be glad you aren't in the city of LV, they are a nighmare to deal with right now. Kim is in Boulder City. I'm going to start another post to Vegas members regarding theft so I don't take over Kims build. Barb

Ok...just for budgetary purposes would you give me a ballpark on how much this set you back?

Also, what state are you located in?

Thanks for all the compliments. You would be surprised at how many problems we had while building this pool. We are glad it is finally done so we can enjoy it. If any one has any questions please feel free to ask.

I would highly recommend the pentair 4x160. We run the pool 9 hours a day with a lower speed then a standard pump and our electricity bill it just slightly higher. Also, the easy touch remote system is well worth it and we love the umbrella holes in the pool. Can't wait till summer...

The total project was six figures. At this time we do not want to mention the pool builders name. We had WAY to many problems and we do not want to give this pool builder any more business.

However, in spite of this I can assure you that every new day of pool ownership will distance you from the experience.
I'm confident that the sweet taste of your new backyard will offset the bitter taste of the process it took to get there.
Your poolscape is truly AWESOME, congrats on the final product.

Thanks for supporting the industry with your pool purchase. Rest assured that there were many others besides your builder who reaped the reward of your investment in the pool. Without yourself and the other pool owners who support us, myself and my competitors, the Mfg's of pool products, and the wholesalers and retailers who bring them available to the general public would be in a heap of hurt.

The grill is the Kirkland Grill Master and was converted over to gas with their kit. It was ordered from costco.com. It is the only grill I know of that has a working oven. I have read mixed reviews on it. It has worked great for us. The refrigerator was bought at samsclub.com and is a compact 3.2 GE.
