I had NVP Delaware Bay Driftwood 10mm installed in two bedrooms in my condo in Toronto. Bought from LL. Had seen it in a friend's place and thought it looked wonderful. Great customer service. I had them install. Looks fabulous until I got a call from a friend about the 60 Minutes segment on the unacceptable amount of a formaldehyde gassing off the boards. I remember finding it curious that the boxes that the planks came in were marked as "Made in Austria?" Wow, and yet so cheap... Tomorrow I will be setting out a testing kit to determine the amount of formaldehyde in the air (it will take three days of testing but can I even trust the results?). Who to trust now? People tell me not to take chances with health and to simply pull up the boards, dump them in the landfill and start over. What an expense. What are other people doing? I should have bit the bullet and put in hardwood.

HI! I know this is an older post. I was wondering if jeannema/Kelly every did buy the brushing putty and what your results were like. Or if tootiepugsmom ever painted your kitchen cabinets and used the BP? We are in the middle of painting our oak kitchen cabinets and I don't know if I'm entirely thrilled with the results of the BP. I did apply 2 coats on the bases in most area, and you can still see the grain in some areas. We've sprayed 2 coats of primer and 1 coat of paint -all FPE - on all the bases so far. And, I can still see some of the grain lines in certain lights. Not sure if I should brush on 1 coat of the paint, and then spray a few final coats to yield additional filling? I'm working on the doors, but I've only gotten through 1 coat of BP so far and I'm at the horrible sanding stage with beveled doors - ugh! I had read the post above prior about the corners, and was as careful as could be, but it's hard! I know I need 2 coats for sure on those, but I'm still getting discouraged. Wondering if even after 2 coats of BP (thick and sanded correctly) you could still see "some" of the grain on your oak cabinets? any feedback and final pics would be great! (for whatever reason I can't figure how to message either of you directly!) STeph

Boopadaboo, I used to have colors on walls when I was growing up. Then when I saw the townhouse I am now living in with all neutral colors in the house and on the walls, it felt so beautiful, peaceful and elegant to me. I told the painter to patch up the holes in the wall from the seller's pictures and paint it the same color. I should have just left the newly painted walls alone and added pictures everywhere the seller did! The paint was too white with a touch of yellow with no white trim and I hated it. Finally years later when I repainted after trying so many off-white colors, I found I loved BM Bone White in most rooms but two where they appeared a totally different color. I painted the trim BM White. I found the door that I never painted over in one of the rooms that I keep storage in and it is similar to what I finally chose! My Master Bedroom is Ralph Lauren Deep Cream. I hated that same color in my Master Bathroom and repainted it BM Navajo White which I wish was a tad darker and since the paint job is so bad by the painter, one day I must get around to repainting it. The guest bedroom is painted BM Philadelphia Cream which changes color throughout the day and is not my favorite. The rest of the house is so peaceful in BM Bone white. My other two bathrooms are Ralph Lauren Deep Cream and they need a new wall color but I just live with this one despite it not working that well in these two rooms. I love color with accents and my reddish Brazilian Cherry Floors. I like peaceful wall colors I have learned. So glad you love the color you chose for your walls. Color is important to many of us and I feel it affects mood. Some people feel better with bright colors on the wall and others with dark less bright colors and others with neutrals. With neutral walls, you are free to add accent colors that you can change out when you feel like it.

We did a lot of neutral with it. He has bamboo floors, and most of his furniture is dark brown leather or wood. We added pops of red all over (pillows, blankets, rugs, some draperies) and it feels very masculine and has a slight nautical style to it. I think your ideas are spot on with how I would use the color in my own bedroom. I'm picturing what you're describing as something very light and clean, with a kind of soft feeling to it. I'm totally into the vintage looking rugs right now.
