It's finally spring and think it's here to stay ! Yea!

It's in the upper 70's today. I just fertilized all of my pot plants, indoor and outside. I really need to wash linens, but it's too hot to iron so I'll just put fresh ones on the beds and let the dirty ones pile up for this week.

Slept late, did a few things around the house, met a friend for coffee now heading out to plant a small azalea before the rain starts. Ever since I retired I get about half as much done as when I was working. Now -- there's always tomorrow! Enjoy your weekend.

Cold, damp here--but at least not raining (yet--may later).

Was up at 6AM. We got packed up, ran to DD's to visit with and feed the cat. Had breakfast as Panera Bread. Headed down to the country. Unloaded the lastest bunch of stuff. Went to the bank to move some more $$$ there. Then back to the house to: unload boxes, rearrange kitchen cabinets, washed pillows, made the bed, then outside to do some gardening while DH cut the lawn. By mid-afternoon we were ready to head back to the suburbs to do some more packing.

Fun? Not exactly.... but definitely productive.

Now, if I could just get warm!!!!

Dedtired, it's so true! I don't get as much done either and I have a ton of stuff to do before the kids get here Wednesday. I really need a swift kick in the tush to get myself going.

Azzalea, hang in there girl. It won't be long before that whole moving thing is all over. I know you'll be soooo happy!

I did do some laundry but I really need to do some cleaning. It's getting so I just hate it. It isn't messy but I know it needs vacuumed and dusted, even though I don't see any dust.

Enjoying my weekend? No, not really. It's 39 degrees and raining. My left knee got up this morning with what I suspect is a case of gout so I am hobbling around as best I can. Had the traditional gout remedy of cherries for breakfast and lunch. Hope it helps. I guess it could be worse...I would really be bummed out if it was sunny and 70 degrees and I couldn't work in the yard with this bum knee!

Same here, 40 degrees, dreary, raining off and on, and cold. I didn't go outside once except to the mailbox to get the mail. Instead I sat at the computer watching "Bramwell" on Utube all afternoon. Nibbled on my Bisquick biscuits, drank coffee. And I didn't do my walking exercises either, which is dumb because it would have been the best time to do them after sitting so much all day. Now I'm watching "Midnight in Paris" for the 8th or 9th time on a cable movie station. Love this movie.

It's 8:45pm and I'm fighting the urge to run down to the Drive-thru for some potato chips! What a Saturday.

Very much so. Just got back from DD's family and close friends (couples) baby shower. It was nice to see the family together and all the extended family/friends in the circle and their love for her. It was an outdoor BBQ and the weather was perfect.

Everybody loved my pirate ducky cake. I was so tired when I finally got to bed this morning after finishing it but it was worth the effort. Still recovering from last week's road trip and had a great but long day at the horse races yesterday. So Friday and Saturday have been good!!!!

Didn't gain weight on my road trip. DD is 37 weeks so my grand daughter will be here soon. Life is good. :-)

I just typed up a big long reply to this and clicked on the wrong button, grrr! I'm on Lauren's laptop and don't like the keyboard. My computer is acting up so I'm borrowing her's. I've been trying to post here and on facebook all week, sometimes with no luck...especially here.

Spent yesterday celebrating Lauren's 16th birthday and tonight the girls are at the prom. Waiting for Lauren to come home...Sola's spending the night at one of her friend's house tonight.

I ordered pizza delivered and been playing games on Facebook. I may go sit on the couch and read now.

Oh, and I'm boiling potatoes for potatoe salad for tomorrow.

The minister in one church had fluffy toys for the children in their story time ... then asked whether adults would like one, many did, and he brought out a bagful.

There were some flying through the air ... and more laughter than I've heard in some time in church.

My little ducky had a little one held in its arms - so I got a bonus: two for one!

I found an email message the other day (at the same church's old guy's coffee hour, actually, which we held in the common room of a senior's apt. bldg, as the local Art Group were using the church for three days) ...

... which purported to explain the demise of the dinosaurs ...

... and showed two sitting on a little island, with Noah's boat off in the distance, and the rain pelting down, so one dinosaur says to the other, "Oh, shi!! Was that today?".

I noted that those who've done the (external, and some say questionable) dating of biblical events, and claiming that things originated about 6,000 years ago, might have put the Noah saga about 4,000 - 5,000 years ago ...

... but the paleontomlogists/geologists claim that the dinosaurs disappeared in one of the major extinctions, following that asteroid hitting the Yucatan peninsula ... about 60 - 65 million years ago.

Not wanting to get my panties tied into knots by outsiders ... I shared it with a select few at the coffee hour at the second church.

But - the negatives.

I have a large garden space, and a bunch of seeds just hungering to be placed in it.

Plus ... income tax deadline is tomorrow ... and mine isn't finished. Looks like I'll be paying something over double last year's cost (but on slightly under 25% larger income).

Some bales of straw to deliver to a couple of gardener acquaintances, too, so ...

... it looks as though I'd best be going.

I had a great weekend. Went to the City Soccer game last night with DD & DSIL after I got to play with 1 yr. old DG. Went to the National Seashore today (gorgeous day to go beachin') & found the BEST Mexican restaurant since we moved here 6 months ago. I'm happy.

Weekend's over ... but I got the taxes done.

Thought that, as the company bought out one of my investments just before year-end, that I'd have to write a cheque for, maybe, upwards of a thousand, as I'd held it for some time and there was some capital gain in place. I'd made a somewhat larger charitable contribution than usual, and political, as well, as we had both federal and provincial elections up here last year.

My rough calculation had missed a couple of things ... and it turns out that I'm owing a few hundred ... but my private pension supplier had made some withholding, so I'm to get a refund!

I've told a number of folks over the years that if they don't mind loaning out money at no interest ... that I'll gladly stand in line to get some. Rather than make a free loan to the government, I like to try to figure things so that there's no refund.

Up here, though, if you need to write a cheque of over $3,000.00 to go with the return on filing ... you have to pay quarterly instalments, next year. A while ago, when I had to do that, I thought of asking my pension provider to withhold enough to help me avoid doing so, later ... but about that time, they upped the amount required, which took care of my problem.

Rather cool and raining today - so no seeding tomorrow.

I have some house cleaning, clearing clutter, and sewing to do.

Oh, yes - and an illustration that I saw the other day showed an electric scooter with a small trailer behind it ... for folks who like to travel. No covering for the rider, though - you'd have thought that they could have provided an umbrella!

Ole Joyful that electric scooter with a trailer behind it reminds me of my golf cart that I have a little trailer for to haul things about, like cans of trash out to the road or gardening stuff. I do have a roof though on my cart. Have a great week all.

I use a handicapped scooter in my yard and I tend a lot of small flower beds. My dh put a hitch on the scooter and built a trailer for it. I can haul a lot of stuff on that trailer. Now at about 5 miles an hour and 20 miles on a charge, I am not likely to run away from home!
