I made the lime jello, sour cream and crushed pineapple "salad" for my old son and me. The color just seems so Easter pastel, so I make it for Easter only every once in a blue moon.

Dottie, I would love to share your jello. I just love lime jello with lots of finely shredded carrots, but none of my family will eat it. I thought I trained them right!

I use to make a massive jello mold for my brother. It was made in layers and took a couple of days since each layer had to set before adding the next one.

I don't remember it exactly, but one layer was lime flavor with sour cre@m beaten into it. One was orange flavor mixed with mandarin oranges. There was a layer mixed with cottage cheese, and another with grated ce1ery. It went on and on and ended with a topping of sweetened cream cheese mixed into strawberry jello.

He absolutly loved it when I'd unmold the quivering mess and spoon sliced fruit around it.

This was a once-a-year, at most, occassion.

Jeepers. Now I'm hungry for jello; and I've already made three Key Lime Pies for tomorrow.

I love that sunshine salad. I toss in some canned mandarin oranges too. Sometimes I use lemon jello and sometimes orange. My friend puts nuts in hers but I don't like it with nuts.

You'll be able to nail that Jell-O to a tree before you'll force feed it to me! Harry won't let it happen! He told me about you trying to give him Jell-O dog biscuits!

Maybe it's yust us Scandinavians that serve whipped cream with Jell-O instead of floor sweepings. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're *not* out to get me! You people are the ones putting the 1" layer of ketchup on meatloaf too! I know it! I just KNOW it!

I'm organizing a Department of Cuisine Security to deal with such radical factions. I'll probably be the Gourmand General in charge. Yeah, that's it. That'll teach ya! It'll be a sliced grapefruit with a cherry for you!

I loved jello when I was a kid, until my mother ruined it for me. She said it was made out of hoofs and horns. :)

I had a bowl of jello (black cherry) in the refrigerator to go with our Easter dinner today. As requested by my misdirected family, it was plain! YUCK!

So what do you suppose I found in the fridg, when I was putting away the leftovers... --- ... The untouched bowl of Jello. I wish there was a way to slip those gratted carrots into it now!

Hayjud mn, I found a new (to this area) flavor of Jello, it is called Island Pineapple. It was good. I usually use orange Jello, bout this was good, I also crushed crushed pineapple along with the carrots. My sis & her hubs are coming up in two weeks and she asked if I would make this salad. My Mom always called it Sunglow salad, Dottie

Ah Cynic, you'll be sorry you threw down the gauntlet! LOL You might be a Gourmand General, but I'm a Six Star General in Charge of Everything and Harry is my attaché and backs up all my decisions! He loves jello, and carrots, and pineapple.

I'm going to sneak into your h0use and "rearrange" all the canned goods in the pantry. They will be out of order, and not faced to the front, and the sardines will be hidden behind the canned peaches!

That will teach you to reverse the TP!

But, to show there's no hard feelings, I'll leave a meatloaf in the 0ven...with 1 and 1/2 inches of KETCHUP on top!

DH hasn't touched Jello since his fraternity house cook used to throw all the leftover vegetables from the week into a Friday night Jello mold. E-YUCK! This was served along with the hockey pucks -- er, veal patties.

I like ONE Jello mold. It's made with black cherry jello, sherry, pitted Queen Anne cherries and sour cream. Great with fowl or pork roast. Nobody takes two servings of cranberry *anything*, but this vanishes.

I don't know... I never cared much for anything moldy. I usually throw it out when it molds. Why do people like Jell-O mold? Is it a new kind of cheese?

Caroline, didn't you know, sardines are bait! And apparently you've been into my pantry lately! :D Oh, and offer my buddy Harry some Jell-O (moldy or not) and I'll offer him a steak... let's see where his loyalty lies!

Harry gets a 'birthday cake' each year. It's an artfully arranged platter of tiny bits of all his "favorite foods."

There's tiny bits of butter, cheese, broccoli, red bell pepper slices, green bell pepper slices, apple slices, and a dab of raw meat in the center.

Being the "noble and elegant" beast he is, he carefully picks off the red peppers first; they're his favorite.

Then he picks off the green peppers, because they're his favorite. Then the butter, cheese, apple, and broccoli disappear. They're his favorite.

Then he slurps down his favorite, the meat, and says "Is that all I get?"

Are you hinting that your pantry is not in perfect, alphabetized, and rotated order right now?
