Cynic, Elmo update

Didn't want the update to get lost in the other thread. We have thrown him outside in 2 feet of snow a couple of time... mainly for a bit of vindictiveness for what he put us through. And also because now, when we open the door, he runs upstairs to hide. Now just a week or so after he came back, he was asking to go outside but the weather was nice then.

He is back to his wimpy self. For the first month or so he took up for himself a bit more than usually but now he just lets Stewie run all over him. Elmo has decided that being on top of the electric blanket and under the covers is a nice way to spend 30-60 minutes each night. Before he would have nothing to do with "under the covers".

I will try to post a picture tonight, I gotta head to school and it snowed again last night- not sure how much yet.

LOL Good ol' Elmo! I can imagine what he was thinking when he landed in the snowbank!

Mine doesn't try to sneak out now. When the door opens she's there sniffing away but especially on the days with a good blast of cold air hits her in the face she decides that she doesn't want to be a "cat in the hood" anymore. Inside has its advantages.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Give all the furfaces a scratch on the ears for me and maybe a snort of catnip!

I believe some of these critters/toys are possessed. LOL
Grand daughter left her Furby behind when she had visited. I set it on a shelf until I could box it up and send it back to her. All of a sudden the critter "came to life" and started yacking away. I told it to shut up and go to sleep...and it did. It became quiet and closed it's eyes. Then, every once in a while I would glance at it and it's eyes were open as if it was looking at me. Most of the time it's eyes were closed. Eerie! I finally boxed it up and mailed it back. The thing was just spooky!

I'm glad to here from you Florence. You have such an important place here. We all miss you. At least now you know what is wrong with your hip and have a prognosis. You will be up and about by spring though I know it will take sometime for you to be 100%. And the same for your daughter, it will take time. In my opinion her husband didn't leave soon enough. I'm hoping that with your help she may find the same comfort and inspiration in growing things that I have found in difficult times. I believe that as important as a love is he does not complete your life. You find that completeness in yourself and then share it with someone who is worthy. My very best wishes to you and all your family.

LOL Now there's Rube Goldberg at its best! Congratulations on thinking! I can't tell you how many times I've "rigged" things to make them work. Especially on junkbox computers with all their proprietary parts. Duct tape, hotmelt glue, cable ties, you have a new partner... meet nipples! Thanks for the update! So far, we are up to 6 stray B&W cats and 2 missing B&W cats but none of the strays match the missing ones. There is also a beagle that has been missing for a few weeks. As instructed by the humane society lady, I just finished ringing the outside of our hose in used cat litter. Apparently, Elmo is supposed to be able to smell his poop and find his way home. Should be interesting how many strays we attract with this! We do not have a garage and the attic is on the second story of the house with no access- not even a tree overhanging the house. I put washer fluid in my car yesterday and both cars have been driven since he disappeared. Best I can tell all the cars on the street have been driven. Eric walked part of the neighborhood today- no way we can walk it in a single day... between the number of streets and the 45 degree angle hills, WE wouldn't make it home! I came in the neighborhood a different way and cornered people who had just gotten home from work but no one had seen a strange cat recently. The mom to the other missing B&W cat dropped by a picture this afternoon. That way, we can keep a look out for both at the same time. Her cat, Domino, has a similar face marking as Elmo but Domino also has two cute black freckles on his nose. Domino went missing a week or so ago- apparently he has done this before- she said he shows up about the time she takes out an ad. Ara is sitting on my leg- half comforting me, half demanding that I put the laptop down. Stewie is acting more normal today, not sure if that is good or bad.

Please add me,I'm waiting on a kidney transplant. Kidney failure, the gift thsat keeps on giving. My latest problems are too-high phosphorous count, arthritis in both knees, and I had a seizure last saturday. I was totally awake, eyes open, able to speak. But my legs and left arm were twitching uncontrollably.

Dotmom, do they come with instructions to not feed after midnight and don't get them wet or anything? :)

I don't know about instructions for DGD's Furby, but it sure was a weird toy. I was glad to rid of it.

Elmo is on the right. He and Stewie were hoping I would lay out the electric blanket instead of this one.

Janie, little Elmo looks like he's recovered from his excellent adventure quite nicely! And Stewie looks like he appreciates his groceries! ;)

I guess I didn't realize how much alike they looked. Never saw "beef" Stew before! Good looking critters, for sure. Scratch their ears and give 'em a treat for me.

Thanks for the pics and the update.

Oh, and the electric blanket reminds me how a friend's cat learned to turn on the electric blanket. My brother's one cat figured out how to turn on the TV. (He liked watching Grizzly Adams)

Cynic, appreciating groceries, doesn't make you a bad person...or kitty. LOL
a neighbor came over the other day and told us his kitty has learned how to turn on a light switch.
Smart and curious critters, those felines.

I once had a cat who knew how to hit the lever of the electric can opener. The other cat would come running every time. LOL

Elmo and Stewie are adorable! I just love Elmo's 'mask'! :-)
