Has anyone had a pool leveled?

We are having a heaving issue with our pool due to an earlier leak. The pool company came in and attempted to level it, but it is still about an inch and a half out of level. I am looking for any advice about how to proceed with this and for any stories good or bad with a similar issue.

I hope to God never to have to go through this myself, but I suppose I would recommend the following:
1. Consult with the Engineer of Record;
1.1 Demo. tile, coping, deck (if applicable) and plaster;
1.2 Clean gunite surface;
2. Refloat bond beam to level (use a bonding agent) and retile;
3. Repair coping, deck;
4. Replaster.

Anybody else?

T-square has the basic solution. I would make sure that it is settled. maybe some power grouting is needed to stabilize the ground. you may be able to get away without a full replaster. If is is a basic color like white or a stock mix of grey you could do fairly well with just matching the plaster. It depends on how much you want to spend verses how perfect it needs to be. Also if the decks did not move you might get away with just taking up the coping. I am working on a pool that another builder built that had a bit of creep down a slope. It has caused a few problems but the contractor has it stabilized now and everything looks good. So it is very doable though really a bit of a bummer.

Have you been seen by a physical therapist? That is the person who can give you the most info on exercises & Tens units. But they sometimes don't want to give info out. I asked at a hospital physical therapy unit if they had a page of placement spots for migraines for my tens unit that my dr. had ordered for me. They come with almost no info. The hospital people acted like I had lost my mind, asking for their secrets! No way, only patients here get that info. Since I didn't have insurance at the time I left. I didn't have much luck but few yrs ago I got another unit that seems to help more but Butterbur herb from Germany that they have to give kids now for their migraines- takes 3 mos of daily capsules to start working but some kids get rid of their headaches permanently after couple of years. Adults were supposed to get about 60% better. Sounded good to me. After 3 yrs on it I'm 85-90% better! Got a good part of my life back. Whole Foods has the herb. it hasn't had any side effects & no interactions with food or meds. Don't take hardly any migraine meds. Used to have daily headaches. Barometric changes still mess me up & smoke of any kind(so far no fires in mountains this year) Back to tens unit, I think it helped 2nd time around but I didn't keep up with it as I was doing so much better. This was while I had stress of 2 ill parents. I wonder if a glucosamine 1500mg-chondroitin-1200mg. Would help- it works on dogs & sure works on my joints. It has VitD3-1000mg added in 1 I get at Sam's Club but lot of them add MSM & I get sick from that so stick with 1 that works. It kind of strengthens or lubricates joints. The shots that are supposed to lubricate didn't work on friends that paid out of pocket for them.

The One Hour is a national frnchise. They bought up bunch of small mom and pop contractors, whom now pay expensive dues to get marketing and business advice. If it is made by Amana it is made by Goodman equipment. With this in mind, get a few other quotes, the Goodman (One Hour) should be at the lower end of the scale. Amana WAS good stuff until they were taken over by Goodman.

Ooo, that doesn't sound good. We had a small tear (2 yr old cover) in ours near the header and they put a patch on it and it's been totally fine. I asked them how much it's going to be to replace the whole cover someday (since I know they don't last forever). It was expensive, but not as much as I thought it would be. Hope you can get it fixed without too much headache!

If all they need is a good cleaning then that is what you need to do. After which go to Lowes and get Rustoleum paint in a can. It is the most amazing product I have ever used. I will never use their spray again. It flows and levels like you won't believe. It also goes a LONG way. I did our pool surround with it. I used a green scrubby and cleaned the metal coping first. I rinsed and let dry. I then applied 3 light coats. No sanding. None. Rustoleum even tells you that there is no need to sand. They have great primers too but I didn't need them as the surface was in good shape...this is a pool coping that is 25 yrs old !! It looks new now. Has held up well so far..has been 4 months now. Please look at the Rustoleum web site and even email them if you have questions. There is NO reason to sand those cabs if the paint is soiled but intact. NONE !! This will cost you nothing but time and they will look great. Also you can get the paint tinted any color :) c

I've done it a few times on older pools. Thankfully never had to do it for one I've built LOL.
If its not too bad you can make it appear more level with the tile band. If its bad usually its a lot more work:

- remove tile and coping
- install new skimmer at correct elevation if its in the high end
- bush hammer beam down to as close to level as you can
(I don't like to mud the beam up to level because that puts the waterline tile over the cold joint and we have frost here)
- pour new coping (and decks if required)
- install new tile band
- replaster

This summer I have to re-level a pool that is gutter/neg edge all the way around - over 140 lineal feet! Its out by about 1/2" at the worst spot.

The pool company came in and tried to level it by shooting a type of foam used to level house foundations under the shallow end (the low end). It helped, but as I said it is still close to an inch and a half out of level and is very obvious due to the tile line.

I am getting the feeling that they are going to try and say "Hey, we did our best" and want me to just accept it like it is. Am I out of line to expect a better result than this?
