Has anyone heard of or had experience with One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning? I am looking at replacing my existing system (at least the furnace and maybe the AC as well) and just had a visit for a quote from a vary reputable contractor. They sell Trane and Lennox but prefer this One Hour brand which I guess is some sort of contractor brand that he said was easily as good as Trane but dosent have the Trane advertising budget to support so costs less. The cost for the One Hour system was just over 7 thousand and includes a 95% efficient furnace which is a two stage variable speed fan, a 13/14 SER A/C, an April Air humidifier and a micro guard filtration system (good to 97% at 3 micron). The similar system from Trane was just over a grand more.

I live in Minnesota and with the last 2 weeks of sub zero weather, resperatory issues with the kids, and the lower level being 5-15 degrees colder than the upper floor and a furnace that is 20-25 years old it seems like a good time.

Questions, feedback please.

Checking the internet and all other sources I can,t find anything about a brand of equipment with that name. There is a franchise contracting outfit by that name and some small shops with that as part of their name but thats about it. Maybe the contractor you talked to uses One Hour as their sub.

OK, found out that the One Hour brand is made by Amanna. Any opinions about Amanna?

The only Red Ace I'm familiar with was available in the Nor'East Catalog for many years until 2000 and was bred by Harm Saville. Apparently there is another miniature with the name of Red Ace which was bred by De Ruiter and was/is available mainly in Europe. That one has the synonym of AmRUda. There is some information on both at Help Me Find.com. Unfortunately no pictures and apparently no sources for either in the U.S. Not much help I'm afraid. I've decided to use site-finished hardwood. The guy I'm looking at hiring uses a water-based finished called nanotechnology. Has anyone heard of this? Had experience with it? Anything? I can't find anything about it online.

Hi Jen & Mariend, Thanks for your input. Glad to hear The Diecut Lady is a good place to deal with. Being new to scrapbooking, I don't know what is a good price and what isn't, and who is reliable to do business with. I will keep my eye out for classes, maybe at my library or something. The One Hour is a national frnchise. They bought up bunch of small mom and pop contractors, whom now pay expensive dues to get marketing and business advice. If it is made by Amana it is made by Goodman equipment. With this in mind, get a few other quotes, the Goodman (One Hour) should be at the lower end of the scale. Amana WAS good stuff until they were taken over by Goodman.
