LP range install - does this sound right?

I purchased a LP range and called my local propane supplier and to request a tank and stove hookup. They sent out a plumber (?) to check out the site and discuss the tank location. We are living in temporary housing while we are having a new home built so I did tell him that I did not want to spend any more than necessary. I allowed that they could locate the tank anywhere that would work. I also asked if I could do any prep work to lower the cost.

The plumber saw a roll of 1/2 copper tubing that I had in my shop. He said I should run the copper from the stove location through the wall (about 8Â) and then along the exterior wall. He said that they would put the tank where the copper ended. He told me to put flare fittings on both ends and they would come out and complete the hookup.

Does this sound right? Other installations I have seen are black iron with a shutoff close to the stove then a flexible line to the regulator.
