I am looking at the Brazilian Chestnut and just ordered a box. I was a little disappointed; not in the quality, or finish, but there was little to no color variations. Im wondering if this was a fluke? Anyone have experience with this. I had originally ordered Lumber Liquidators but was so disapointed in the product that I had my contractor return it. But, it looked gorgeous. Great color variations and also variations in the grains, which is what drew me to the product in the first place. If anyone has any pics out there i would love to see them.

i sampled very many grays and greiges alittle over a year ago... SW perfect greige and BM glacial till became my finalists for our master bath---they're very similar colors. i ended up choosing glacial till because (as i recall) it had just a very slight hint towards more gray--but, still very greige. i love the color- very soft, but deeper and significantly 'beigier' than revere pewter, which is right outside of the bathroom.

Oh, thank you rm!!! That means a lot to me and your advice and photos have been so extremely helpful! No one quite understands the frustration until they've gone through it. I was dealing with the guild of just keeping it (they're perfectly nice floors) versus going with mine and my husband's dream. I'm so glad we went for it!! I will post pics as soon as we get our gorgeous new floors. For now, we are sticking to the schedule - cabinets go in on Thursday, then granite, then appliances. We will hold off on putting the fridge and dishwasher until after we restain the floors.

The 'variability' is not the floor itself (there is going to be a slight variation because wood changes in colour after 6 months = fading or darkening...depending on the species). The LIGHTING is the issue. If each level of 'light' is a variable, then you have 4-5 DIFFERENT variables BEFORE your eye looks at the picture. 1. The LIGHTING of the photo studio 2. The light FILTER on the camera (aka the lense) 3. The LIGHT FILTER used ON the computer that the WEB TECH has set to do the 'cut and paste' to create a room shot 4. The type of SCREEN you have on your device 5. The LIGHT FILTER on your screen (the way you have set the screen settings) 6. Your own eye....some people are unable to see all colours (colour blindness can be VERY subtle). Wow. Those are MASSIVE variables. Each one will DISTORT the actual look of the product. Imagine having 5 distortions BEFORE you see the colour. Some of these floors can look REALLY different from the 'live' sample. The live sample will have ONE distortion = your eye. And that's the same eye you would use to view the online pics. Trust the live sample over the online photos. It just makes sense.
