Pinktoes - We were more like Nomads! We had sold our house and were renting an apartment when DH took the travel job. DH was gone for a month at a time and could only come home for one weekend a month. It was hard for all of us being away so we packed up everything and put it in storage and went with DH! We drove everywhere as we had a Golden Retriever so flying was not a option. I home schooled DD for most of kindergarten and half of first grade...(HS was not a could fit for me or DD! LOL!) I told DH I would do it for one year and then I felt it was important for DD to be settled and in school. It did help us save up money to buy our land and start to build by not having to pay rent :-) DD did get to so so many wonderful things. We went from one coast to the other! Boston was one of my favorite places but I fell in love with Salt Lake City! Oruboris - The sales lady at the store I went to was really more concerned with making a sale then anything! I pressed for questions for the difference on the PF and Moen faucets but she really just kept saying they were about the same. She stated that she has had customers that swear by PF and some that swear by Moen, etc. I did not like the comparison she showed me for Moen, that looked like the Marielle. I really liked the PF so that is what we decided to go with. Good idea about ordering the extra parts! I might have to follow you on that one.

While washing dishes a dripping hand is constantly touching the handle to turn on/off or adjust the hot/cold ratio. Also some splashing occurs when transferring wed dishes from the sink to the drying rack. I sprayed some water with a bottle on the handle joint and most of the water immediately ended up under the sink. ---------------------------------- Well I took it apart and, seems to me, a rather obvious faulty design. But perhaps someone can debunk my theory here. Bear with me because it takes a few pictures to convey 3d concepts Here is where the 2 O-rings are: And here is how the water, obviously builds a bit around the top O-Ring and then goes down the hole into the shaft where it is eventually free to run all the way down under the sink. We have resolved the problem by replacing the entire unit with a like one and the new one is working. It was a single handled kitchen faucet, the cute antique looking rubbed bronze one. I know the cartridge had to be set in place with a groove and protrusion which made sure you were putting it in right. We tried replacing the cartridge 2X and just ended up having to take the whole thing out. Hope the new one works! Also, passing info on to others of you all who might have similar situations with PF.

I certainly do have an opinion....that's the faucet I had in my "old" kitchen and that my brother is now putting in his condo kitchen! We've had it for several years and it's worked wonderfully! No problems w/anything...finish is still great, no leaks...the only thing we did have do last fall was replace the hose...but that was our (my) fault. It got caught on something and in a peak of irritation, rather than figure out what it was caught on I yanked it as hard as I could...that wasn't such a good idea! Needless to say I did a number on the hose and it had to be replaced. My brother, who is very picky, was thrilled to take the faucet. We actually were thinking of keeping it for our new prep sink but since the main sink is brushed nickel I thought it would clash (plus I wanted the Fairfax!). You will get a lot of people here slamming Price Pfister in general, but my experience is that it's a good faucet.
