Water softner and radon aeration machine

I had radon in my well water (greater than 10,000pci/l) and had an aeration unit put in. I spent a lot of money on the high end unit, and after it was put in, the water flow in the house would stop if we were bathing the baby or soing multiple water things at once. According to the installer, this should not happen and he came out to fix it right away. He said it was the plumbers flux on the filter that was preventing water from entering the aeration machine. The flow from the well is fine (probably greater than 10g/min). He replaced the filter but noticed that there was some rust on the screen.

I had the water checked during the home inspection (we ran the water full blast in several places in the house for over one hour bypassing the already existing water softner and then tested it). The results showed that I likely do not need a water softner. However, now that I have rust (or iron combined with the oxygen in the aeration unit) on the screen, would it be wise to put the softener back on (I am currently bypassing it), or could it be caused by something else?

Below I have copied the results from the water test:
