I love Shoebuy - have been a customer for years. Great service. I had surgery on a foot last year, making the fit and size different from all my years of wearing a particular size, so I have returned more than I have kept lately. I love shoes, so I hate it that I am having a "fit" problem. So, just a word of caution to new buyers; Shoebuy will only pay the return shipping on one box / label. Make sure you receive all the shoes from your order and have decided what you are keeping and returning, and request the return label only once for the return shipment. Shoes do not always arrive at the same time -- just return everything at one time. It is their policy, and I think fair, just not one I knew about until recently. Again, I have only had very, very good experience shopping at Shoebuy, and I have purchased shoes for the whole family and gifts. It is so much fun to look at thousands of shoes from the comfort of home. Have fun!!

Kitchendetective, I feel your pain! It really is a shame that the nearest New Balance store is 80 miles away but, I'm going to have to add my voice to the "go to a New Balance store" recommendation. A couple of months ago I was in the same boat you are. My well used NB runners were falling apart and no matter what NB shoes I tried on nothing seemed to give me sufficient cushion. I finally broke down and went to a NB store. They have a machine that stand in (after removing your shoes) which will indicate on a screen just where the pressure points on your feet fall. Helps the NB folks determine exactly what kind of runners you need. Well, color me shocked. All my adult life I've *known* I have flat feet....except the machine showed that I really don't have flat feet. My wet footprints look that way becasue of the motion my feet go through when I'm walking. I not only needed a shoe with good cushion, I needed one that stabilized my foot. The guy who was helping me put exactly one shoe on me and it was like nothing else I'd ever had on my feet in my life. Yes, it felt that good. Yes, it was more than double the price that I usually paid for NB at Kohls or Shoe Carnival.....but I'm so glad that I did it! My feet feel "years younger"! I live in my runners and, as a dog trainer, they get a ton of abuse and use on a lot of different surfaces. When I find a pair I like, I generally buy 2-3 pairs. I didn't do that at the NB store since they were so pricey but, I came home and found exactly the same shoes at Online Shoes and ordered two additional pairs from them at a considerable saving. I suppose I could have returned the ones I bought at the NB store but as far as I was concerned the sales guy worked hard to ensure that I got shoes that worked for me so the extra cost was worth it. For one pair.

The price difference is usually that one color is being added or continued--the higher priced one-- and the other color is being discontinued. Or the lower priced color isn't selling as well, so it's on sale to move more product. I have to buy wide width shoes, which many shoe stores don't carry, or they only buy one pair of wide shoes per size, i.e. they may buy 20 pairs of size 7 and one pair of size 7 wide. So I do most of my shoe buying on the internet. It's just like any other store--popular things sell out quickly. And these days, on-line retailers seem to be carrying less inventory than they did even 5 years ago. I've noticed if I don't buy something right when I see it the first time, if I come back, several sizes and colors will be sold out. Fewer sales, too.
