Need some help here please..........

Okay so far so good and the kids are still in our lives Kasey is calling...haven't got to see them since thursday as they all 5 have had the stomach bug....but I am still holding out for the best.....my ? heres.....for 5 kids this gramma can't spend lots of mney like she could where their was 1 or 2 g/b's how do I go about finding good used clothes for them Levi is easy any action hero on his shirts and jeans Gabriel we may have made harder she likes it all to match hairbows hats dresses shoes jeans shirts slacks...the 2 litle ones just need a few nice outfits when they go out somewhere...and to top it off Kasey had saved alll of Gabe and Levis stuff....and since they outgrew them they really have nice stuff to wear.....but I need to find the 2 older ones some nice stuff for school.....they look fine but I alwasy love buying for the kids.....and I asked Kasey to make sure and she didn't ahve a problem with it at all...just said don't buy to many like you used to mom....so is their better days to go to thirts stores goodwill etc.? In my area Goodwill has half price day on Sunday and Monday so that would be a better time to go of course. The Blind Council store does a half price for seniors (over 55) on Monday. Most places offer a discount day of some sort. Call them to find out or check their websites.

At Goodwill they have a "volume buyer" discount card good at all times that you can sign up for. If you spend at least $20 you get 20 percent off. Its like getting a "free" item. You can also sign up for a "birthday card" from them. They mail you a card on your b-day that is good for 25 percent off on any purchase, and you can use it anytime - not just during your birthday month.

Ask them when you shop if there is anything like that you can sign up for.

This isn't exactly what you asked.

I know you drive to Tulsa sometimes. I would recommend checking out the Woodland Hills Mall on 71st and Memorial. I have been finding some clothes there lately for awesome prices. Sears had clothes 60% off including some really pretty girls dresses. Some of the clothes were less than that. Dillards had some 70% this past week. I think I may have missed JC Penney's big sale. I buy my kids clothes ahead for the next year so if you're looking for spring clothes, you may not be as happy with the prices. The stores are cleaning out inventory for the next year right now so the prices are really good, but inventory is dwindling.

They bloom in fall and winter -- that is the great thing about them! And you have picked two nice varieties. Here is a link to some planting tips. (See below.) The main thing I have found is to plant them high in a wide but shallow hole, so they will not later sink below grade. And use plenty of good planting mix (it is worth it). In my opinion you should cover all the window trim and just have the glass showing. You are trying to create an illusion that the windows go all the way to the corner and showing the window trim destroys that illusion. Definitely a pinch pleat is the most elegant , and the closer together the pleats the better. But then it depends on the rod you have or are thinking of getting. Whether or not you have a valance box and if you have an existing sheer already. I think you have to go looking or consult someone who makes custom drapes. Without actually seeing things or knowing the look you are after, I can only give you general advice.

With any deciduous tree like crapes, you will have no privacy in winter. I'd consider planting at least a few 'Chindo' viburnums for a fast upright evergreen to provide that year-round privacy. Glossy leaves are gorgeous, deer-resistant. Best to plant about 5 feet or more from fence. You might also include some spineless upright hollies like Ilex integra if you can find it. Also perhaps a Teddy Bear magnolia. Your neighbor has the right to trim anything that grows over the fence line, which may also reduce your privacy, depending on how closely you plant it to the fence.

Garage sales are great and cheaper than Goodwill. Sometimes stores will have 50% off their clearance prices. I buy DS lots of stuff at Old Navy during those sales. Sometimes Childrens Place has big markdowns too. I read shopping/deal type forums to have an insiders heads up.

Yep ask where ever you go.
Ours on Thursday has a bag sale...All you can fill in a paper bag for $5. Roll or wad things up and you will be amazed what you get for $5.
Always check the clearance racks in stores too! I saw the cutest shorts for girls discounted to $3.99 regular $20. Buy a season ahead if you have to....also don't forget the garage sales! I go to the ones where I know the ritzy peeps live and get name brand jeans for $2-$3. Plus Maddie got the sweetest Christmas dress this year...from Childrens Place and again I paid $3! Garage sales you can't always find the right size at the right time, so I always keep an eye on clearance racks too. Our thrift store is small and doesn't have a lot of clothes for kids, so if I see it and its in great shape I buy it sometimes rather than wait for a bag sale. Somedays I can't find enough for a bag.

Stacy, check out consignment shops - great deals on gently used clothing. When they outgrow it, if it's still in good shape, take it back to the consignment shop, make some extra money and buy MORE clothes!

Also, ask among your friends to see if anyone knows of someone who has kids the ages/sizes of your gks - start a kids clothing exchange group - everyone wins!

Thanks guys...this is what i needed to know....Yes I will still go to woodland hills and get super store dscounts think Brian and I are going to see if we can get Gabe and Levi sat. do some shopping and thenmaybe incrediable pizza....the other 2 are still to small and still don't go with anyone but we will grab them something too.....Our garage sales around here bite...it is like the families are trying to make their living by having garage sales every week...I would rather do thrift store or consignment shops and if I do find great things at full retail for Gabe the 2 younger girils can use them...now Levi he gets the full use ouf ot his clothes LOL he is allll boy...so Lakota will get all new espically since their is 7 yrs difference in their ages....I do have a g/f who buys alll gymporee clothes for her daughter so going to get with her this week on the smaler stuff as Gabe is 2 sizes bigger then Syd but should be stuff I cna buy for the other 2.....thanks again Stacy
