When you first go to the website there is a link on the left-hand side of the page that says "gallon list." If you click on that, you'll see all of the plants that they offer in one gallon sizes. Of the three that I ordered this year, two were huge, and the third was still quite large. After you order, and receive your order comfirmation, just reply to that message that you would like them shipped bareroot. I think both of these would do fine in your zone. JoyJoy45 You are absolutely right and so is everyone else about death. I too saw death clearly as a part of life which is helping me get through this difficult time. I sometimes think my father didnt want to enter heaven alone and waited for someone else very sick. My sister is having a hard time as she visits the grave each day. I will when closure becomes more clear. I dont want to feel like I'm abandoning my dad in a cold place. My dad used to say he was saving things for a rainy day. I know realistically we do have to save for our old age but I do want to spend money and go places because what I have learned with all of this , we worry, wait and save and then your gone and only your memory is alive. What the heck do we worry about every minute. It doesnt seem to matter. I dont want to sound too gloomy just trying to put everything in perspective so I can grieve positively and remain strong for all my kids (4) and my husband. I thank God we had them for such a long time and I keep remembering them when I was younger. When a song plays on the radio it takes me back to when I was younger when he would come from the garden gathering his vegetables and going around the neighborhood with baskets full of his tomatoes. He was proud that his were the biggest and the best. When the crop was too big the kids had tomato stands instead of lemondade stands. I guess his life was simple but it was community and love.

I have refrained from this conversation, but really want to weigh in. I have never been to a concert, bought a t-shirt or poster, nor do I have any little girls in my life that have swooned over him. Does he need to straighten up? Most definately. But I do feel sorry for him. He has been a celebrity more than half his life. Everywhere he goes, he is fawned over and pampered. People scrambling to meet or exceed his every whimper. Probably never been said no to, never spanked, never sent to his room, never denied anything. It was his talent that paid for it afterall (and possibly your job that hung in the balance) I cant imagine all have been looking out for his best interest. Where would a celebrity of his status get alcohol and drugs? He is far too popular to walk out on the street and ask for any...He has no school mates slipping it to him. His suppliers are trusted adults. Probably the same adults that are on his bankroll. The same people that make money when he is in the spotlight. Lets give the kid a little slack. I believe his behaviour was taught, encouraged and condoned by some unsavory people looking to take advantage. HE HAS BEEN TAUGHT that he is untouchable. It's not too late for him to get some tough love and guidance. I only hope he can, because ALL celebrities are role models. Kids with no role models at home will find someone to mirror their behaviour.

My mother just died on Thanksgiving night. Most of the cards we got arrived within the first 2 weeks. That's the time you want your friends and family letting you know you're in their thoughts. Once you get past the funeral, and are starting to try to move on, getting a card kind of throws you back into that period of high grief, and while you appreciate it, it sort of pulls you down and depress you all over again. I've always sent sympathy cards within the week of the death--assuming I find out about it right away. The only way I think you would send a card much later would be if you didn't learn of the death until much later.
