Finally got the biopsy test results.

I just dodged another bullet. The Drs assistant called at 5PM and gave me the biopsy report. I don't have cancer. She is going to send me a copy of the report. It is benign.

Talking to DH this morning about it and we both agreed that it was the constant back of your mind worry since Jan. that was the worse. Every doctor's visit and special test done just made it more real. It felt like you were at a crossroad and couldn't make plans on which way to go. Your life was on hold. We both tried to pretend it wasn't there and get on with things but it touched everything you did or thought about. I know no one knows what the future holds but this was like having something constantly hanging over your head. I am so glad that weight has been lifted.

I measured mine yesterday at the new house. I put real rain gages next to the oscillator sprinkler and left it on for 2 hours. I got 0.6 inches of water. I have a 2-hour hose timer so I turn it on in the morning and again in the evening or lunch. Every system is different. Some can put out an inch in 15 minutes. Watch your lawn to see when you need to water again. Don't just leave it on the schedule you had. After you apply deeper, it might last longer. The grass will tell you. Also since you are Dallas, the winds sometimes are humid from the south and sometimes dry from everywhere else. Keep an eye on that and when the winds are dry, you might need to water sooner.

My DH was angry to see that Medicare was charged $300 for a PSA test from his physical last month. He's mid-seventies. His PSA numbers were never 'interesting' back when the test was appropriate for his age (prior to 70). We did our physicals at the same time. The lab gave me the option of declining the cholesterol test because I would have to pay the entire cost for it. I did decline it. (Perfect cholesterol is my only health claim to fame.) I wish DH had known he was getting the PSA; he would have declined it as inappropriate. Just because a test or procedure isn't Out Of Pocket doesn't make it appropriate. Jasdip -- Why is your DH having this test if he has no prostate? Is it indicated because he DID have a problem? (I don't understand.)

Wow! This has by far been the most 'popular' thread of the ones I've started! Kind of ironic isn't it? Thank you all for your support. I've read each and every one of your comments. My doctor's first opinion based on biopsy results is that it is not operable at this stage. In the next few days I will probably know if there's anything that can be done to really help my medical condition and prolong my life while keeping quality of life decent or if there's not much hope due to metastasis. My father died of lung cancer with bone metastasis at the age of 65 and that was a more than nasty experience both for him and for us. I don't intend to let myself be subjected to this or impose this on my loved ones. For some reason I always thought that 65 was my life limit too but it seems I may have miscalculated. What I would ask from you at the moment is to PLEASE let this thread slip down the houzz thread list, so I can calmly continue browsing these rosy pages when I feel like it.. You are more than welcome to PM me if you feel like contacting me for this matter. Oh Clare - this is wonderful news. I am just sorry that it took months to figure it all out, and that you were so worried for all that time. I remember when I had a small breast mass and it was three weeks from discovery to the final verdict of benign. That can be a terrible period.

What a burden has been lifted! Do celebrate this weekend!

That's just the best news. I'm waiting on my results from my mammogram I had Tuesday. The technician said if they needed more testing they'd call in a couple of days. But it must be okay, as it's been 4 days now, and no call. I'll probably get the card saying all was normal soon.
