Towel bar or towel ring - which is better
Comments (5)Ginger makes rings that are a sort of hybrid ring/bar. The one below is from the "Surface" line, but I think something similar is available in a couple of their other lines too. This image shows a satin nickle finish, but it's available in a choice of finishes. Here is a link that might be useful: Ginger Bathroom Accessories Catalog...See MoreSuggestion for accessories similar to Kohler Finial style?
Comments (6)Hi, I also have the Kohler Finial faucets in all of my bathrooms. Instead of getting the Kohler Finial towel bars, I have towel bars and toilet paper holders, etc. made by Aquabrass. In one bathroom I used the Aquabrass Series 400, and in another bath, I used the Series 500. To me they are a fairly close match to my Kohler Finial faucets. The difference (to me) is that the Kohler is a little bit thinner and longer than the Aquabrass. I could take pictures and measurements if you needed more info. But to me, they are a good match. The aquabrass is quite elegant looking, similar to the Kohler Finial (to me). The Aquabrass Series 500 is exactly the same as the Series 400 except that there are fancy ridges along the outside ring, so the 500 series looks a bit fancier than the...See MoreBrushed Nickel Finishes on Faucet & Accessories
Comments (5)I mixed Moen sink and tub/shower faucets in brushed nickel with Restoration Hardware towel bars / rings in brushed nickel with Access Lighting stainless light fixture with Pottery Barn brushed nickel mirror. Honestly, while they certainly aren't exactly identical, they all seem to "go" just fine. As herring_maven says, rarely do you have two such items near enough to distinguish any differences. I even threw in some chrome into the mixture (shower curtain rod, cabinet pulls, toilet flush lever) and that doesn't bother me either. If you plan to have the items directly next to each other (less than 6" is probably a good rule), you'll probably want to see them side by side. Otherwise, you should be just fine to mix and match and not worry about it....See MoreHelp! Going crazy choosing towel racks, light fixtures, etc.
Comments (22)I've mixed brands of polished nickel, and am very happy with how it's turned out. In one bath I have a Pottery Barn quad sconce (discontinued; got it on ebay), Kohler faucets, a Ginger Chelsea grab bar and knobs and tank lever from Lowes. We're finishing the master bath now, and have Hansgrohe Retroaktiv polished nickel faucets, another Ginger grab bar (love it), and the Asbury triple sconce from Restoration Hardware. The sconce is not big in scale at all, and is over a 42" vanity. We like both sconces with lights pointing up so we don't look at the bulbs. Three 60-watt bulbs is plenty, and we have two can lights near the toilet/shower area. I'm using hooks for towels instead of bars, and found polished nickel ones at Lowes that I really like; they match the drawer knobs and tank lever that I'm also using. They're all traditional in style, and all go together really well. I don't think anyone would criticize that they are not from the same company. Good luck! Gorgeous medicine cabinet....See Moretrancegemini_wa
