I used a pull.... and I borrowed another GW-er's idea to use a larger size than on my other drawers. It's 7 or 8" long, so I hang by dish towel on it (right across from the sink). That way dirty/wet hands grab the towel and don't get the pull and cabinet dirty :) It works reeeeaaaaallly well, though I did have to find a knob/pull line that had lots of different sizes. I used Restoration Hardware. FWIW I have knobs on my cabinet doors, and pulls on my drawers. Since the trash is like a big drawer, this made sense to me. And- looks great!

Are these two that you have narrowed down from a much wider field or is this your starting point? The second group, besides reminding me of those molded candies with the soft fruit center, take me back to some era, but I don't know which one. (That's a neutral statement, not a judgment.) I agree that it really comes down to your preference. Do you like them, and is your kitchen in need of a "detail to look at"? The oval-shaped plain knobs are a little more interesting than the round ones as well if you don't want to go too far off the beaten path. I have a builder board from Berenson. They have a couple of knob choices that have a little visual interest but the edges are smooth, if you are looking for other choices.

I agree that you shouldn't use bin pulls on doors. I think it would be awkward to open a door with a bin pull as opposed to a knob or a regular pull -- especially uppers. Use the cobalt blue glass knobs on your doors -- the combination with the bin pulls and your granite sounds beautiful! Also, IMO, you should use two bin pulls on any drawer that is 30 inches or wider, and/or where you have two cabinet doors below the drawer. I used three different kinds of hardware in my kitchen: bin pulls, suitcase pulls and knobs. The pic below shows all three. (The suitcase pull is on the trash pullout). Also, on every drawer 27" or wider, I used two pulls, with each pull centered over the doors below. Good luck!

As I said, the pull should be about 1/3 the width of the drawer. If you make all the pulls the same size, you will have some that look puny on the wider drawers, and some that look too big on the narrower drawers. They make so many sizes for a reason. Edited to add: here is a pic with different sized drawers showing different size pulls. Try to picture them with all the same size pulls. Also, sometimes people use the same smaller size pull for all the drawers, and then for their wider drawers they’ll use 2 of the pulls. I do not recommend 2 pulls on a drawer.
