No experience with Danze, I read these forums and along with 28 others daily. Im retired and disabled and enjoy reading, learning and helping folks on the DIY type forums. Thus I have read the same thing as you regarding Danze and this is why I tempered my comments with the "you get what you pay for" adage. But in the end Danze has appeared to be very successful in the American market by offering that high style at a reasonable price and that doesnt happen if their products are all bad. My experience level on faucets is now with Grohe both kitchen and bath and I feel that they are well worth the extra dollars if you indeed intend to stay in your home for a long time. From your original posting you felt that the Geneva sink faucets were $500+ and just by surfing around some of rhe internet sites I found them for at least $100 less. So maybe the best bet is to stick to your original choice but shop for the best deal. Its a very competitive marketplace out there. Good luck and enjoy your new home Terry

Thanks, y'all. Yes, we do drink out of the bathroom faucet when brushing teeth, etc. so I guess I should go with "lead-free". My original concern was that lead-free choices seemed limited and all had low-flow (vs. just "low-lead" choices or regular ones.) I did find a good deal on a nice-looking widespread faucet that is lead-free. I was originally concerned that the low-flow would be an issue, or that "lead-free" meant "plastic parts that would break" but the manufacturer's rep assured me that I could just swap out the aerator if I didn't like the low flow and that it was still made of brass parts, but that they just changed the formulation of the brass to reduce the lead to meet the "lead-free" limitations. I guess my state (Maryland) has just enacted stricter lead requirements anyway. Not sure if they could have sold me a regular one or not, but I have noticed some faucets listed as "not for shipment to CA or VT". Anyway--here is a link if anyone else is interested. Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! You succeeded very well in getting the look you wanted while saving money along the way. Congratulations, and thank you for the pictures and great detail and supply list.

Hi Sochi and Kristin, gorgeous wallpaper projects! I am in correspondence with several Italian fiber glass wallpaper suppliers now and all of them have different waterproofing methods. The main issue I am finding is that the substrate needs to be white in color and smooth. Sochi mentioned the contractor used Schluter KERDI-BOARD but it is orange, so how did you eventually get it white? Krisitin what did your contractor do for substrate? What products were used to waterproof the wall before the application of the glue, wallpaper and sealants? My other concern is that the drywall or cement board (depending on what to use) has to sit on top of my shower pan so I fear it will absorb water is not properly waterproofed. Any guidelines and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Alex
